Dez Bryant for Todd Gurley???

Hey Guys,

I'm new to the board, but not new to the site. I've got a massive trade offer sitting on my desk after our draft ended.

Here's what you need to know about my 5-man keeper league team:

QB (Start 1): Peyton Manning (K), Teddy Bridgewater
RB (1 + RB/WR): Jamaal Charles (K), Eddie Lacy (K), Todd Gurley, Ameer Abdullah, Isaiah Crowell, Chris Polk
WR (3): Julio Jones (K), Randall Cobb (K), Jarvis Landry, Kendall Wright, Marvin Jones, Pierre Garcon, Reuben Randle, Josh Gordon

As for your reference, we have one designated spot for a RB, another for a RB/WR, & three WR slots. Obviously, I'm pretty set at RB. I could probably use a WR.

Then, the draft happened...

I had the fourth overall pick, and was lucky enough to grab Todd Gurley (Gordon – Cooper – Randle went before me). Just a few picks later, I decided to trade up and take Ameer Abdullah. Boom. I have four running backs, and I am confident I'll get great production from that position this season.

Today, A guy who is very well-respected in our league (most championships in our leagues history) offered me a trade that I'm having a hard time refusing:

Todd Gurley for Dez Bryant.

I would feel like a moron for saying no to this, but something keeps pulling me the other direction. I'm incredibly torn. On one hand, this trade would give me three filthy starting WRs. On the other, Todd Gurley might do what I think he's going to do and make me regret it forever. The guy making the push for him has a draft history including having drafted AP, and he clearly thinks Gurley is exactly that. I also worry about Bryant's Off-field personality, and Tony Romo's age.

I hear you guys are the best with these types of questions. Thanks for any advice you can offer.

I have the 1.1 and plan on taking Gurley with the pick. However if I were offered Dez I'd take it in a second. Gurley is still a unknown in the NFL. I'm not the least bit concerned about Dez, off field issues, etc.

Seriously? If you can get the #1 asset for the 1.1 in a rookie draft, you do it.

this is a no-brainer. Dez is #1 on many dynasty rankings and is a blue chip piece for years to come. If you dont pull the trigger, youll probably regret it for a while. Trading an unknown rookie for a proven STUD (i emphasize stud) is a no brainer even if it is Todd Gurley. If i was to trade Dez, it would take atleast 3 first round picks and a proven player and IDK if i would even do that. DO this trade now and never look back

As others have said and I'll pile on, Dez alone is worth 3 1st rounders minimum so if you can get him for just the 1.1 (Gurley) do it and laugh.

As for long term, Dez could be doing this for another 10 years, he's only 26. Gurley might have hung up the cleats while Dez is still catching the rock. So think about that as well. Could Gurley be top flight until 30 or pull a Gore and go beyond? Sure. But he hasn't taken a single snap yet and already has injury concern. Dez is easily a top 3 overall dynasty asset, probably #1 for most people.

Dez and it's not even remotely close.

I'm sure there were people that thought Trent Richardson was the next AP too. How'd that turn out? You already know Dez is one of the top WRs in the league with multiple years of production. Don't overthink it. Take the deal and run, knowing you won it by a ton.

I'm sure that you don't need anymore responses at this point, but, you take Dez. He's a proven commodity. Gurley, even with all of the hype, isn't worth anywhere near Dez Bryant.
