Thinking about going after OBJ. Is Hilton and either Kevin White or ARob too little? Too much? About right?

I may be a lone voice here, but i think OBJ is being valued way to high right now, there is no way he will put up a year like his rookie year, and i believe by next year this time his value will be lower then what it is now.

I agree that he is overvalued, but that is precisely why this isn't enough for OBJ. I'm not sure any of his owners would deal him for what is essentially two first round picks at this point.

How is there "no way" obj can't put up a great wr1 season next year? Do you think his hands, route running, speed will all diminish next year? People say he can't keep up his pace, why not? Because of Victor cruz ha the guy that just started running a couple of months ago??

He doesn't have to put up numbers like he did last year to retain his value. He was on pace for a 121/1740/16 season, 391 points in PPR. That's better than Antonio Brown last year, way better than any WR in 2013. Heck that's better than Calvin's record breaking 2012.

My point here is that OBJ can regress to put up 80% of his stats last year and still score as a top 5 fantasy WR. I would argue that if he puts up a top 5 season his value actually goes up.

Lots of "if's". Just not going to invest the price needed to obtain him without a lot less "if's". If I am thinking of going after him, I will take my chances that he's cheaper this time next year... or not buy him at all. I don't buy players at peak values unless my team is just stacked and I need to move several players to open up spots for my draft picks. I bought and drafted him last year where I could, because I invest when there is room to improve value. I own him in 2 of my 3 leagues (wow, down to three leagues now).

The minute there are a lot less "ifs" is the minute you won't be ablessed to aquire him anymore.

I put too little not because you should pay more but because I don't think it would get it done. However if you could get OBJ for that I would absolutely do it. I find myself agreeing with princy98 a lot and I agree here as well. I have a feeling that OBJ's value will go up this year. If he does 80% of what he was on pace to do last year and finishes anywhere near the top 5 or higher then his value will soar. The only he isn't being valued as the WR1 is because he only has one year on his resume. Buy now if you can. I unfortunately have not been able to.

well, if you are paying Calvin prices from a few years ago and not getting Calvin production after that... you'd be more sorry you bought than I will be for passing on buying if he is Calvin. My arguement is that you already can't get him without over paying, so you already can't aquire him due to his value being more than he should truely be worth right now. I believe trading for him now is a mistake, but everyone does things differently. I buy players before they break out, so I get a bargin. Paying peak prices makes no sense to me, but other pay the prices which is up to them. Go trade for 3 other WR's that have good upsides like he did last year, you'll pay less and be much happier next year.

I wouldn't give Alshon and TY for him. If someone offered me that, I jump all over it. I'm glad I have him in a league but definitely would not be targeting him right now.

It's just so very improbable....He may well be a WR1, but not at the RATE he produced last year....I'd put a lot of money on it....He is still a top dynasty asset....but honestly...if there was ever a time to trade the guy...it would be now...while he's young....of the back of a phenomenal rookie year.....if he can land you 2 WR1's.....why not?......He is already developing hamstring issues at a young age....and hamstring issues have a history of being chronic.....I honestly believe if you are going to sell OBJ...now is the time......or hold and see what he can do long term.....the guy has played 12 games......and played phenomenally well......he is valued as a top 3 dynasty asset right now....some people value him at the 1.01....If you can stack your team by trading him....do it.....All it cost you was 1 first round rookie pick....once upon a time (unless you did a startup this year)........

I don't know how people are saying that if he even comes remotely close to his production last year, his price will go up even more...

I've seen countless threads/polls here like,
OBJ for Dez
OBJ for AJG
OBJ for Julio

You cant really get higher than top tier prices....unless we want to make a new tier for OBJ, which would be laughable at best.

His price can only go down based on the fact that many already think his price is a top tier WR price

Dont buy high.

OBJ
L. Bell
Luck
Evans
etc....

It is never worth it
