Just traded Barkley, how did I do??

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Just traded Barkley, how did I do??

Postby SkinzFan » Wed Jun 16, 2021 8:31 pm

just made the final trade of my rebuild process.
I gave Barkley and Mooney for:
Edwards-Helaire, Pittman, 22 1st and 22 2nd.

I think it's selling low on Barkley. You didn't get a proven piece back. I don’t believe Pittman will be a very valuable fantasy contributer and I think you could have sold for more in season. I'd want something more like ceh + 1st + 2nd + Higgins or Aiyuk

I would have held. If Barkley comes back healthy and looks closer to rookie year Barkley, his value will skyrocket again. Hopefully Helaire and Pittman make nice jumps.

I wouldn’t move Barkley for that price.

That definitely seems light.

I’m more confused why you felt the need to rebuild. You were likely a strong competitor with Hopkins, Godwin and McLaurin at WR, and Chubb and Barkley at RB. Outside of Hopkins, none of those players are even considered “old”.
12 Team Superflex - PPR, 0.25 PPC - QB/2RB/3WR/TE/Flex/Superflex

I like that you got CEH, but like the others, it feels a bit light for a likely superstar like Barkley. If that first ends up being a top 4 pick, I'd feel better about it.
Not all that counts can be counted. Not all that can be counted counts.

Probably not what you were expecting to hear but agreeing with everyone that you sold Barkley light. Upgrade Pittman to a WR in the 15ish range and it would have been okay. I do think Barkley owners are selling at a bad time because his value now won't be anywhere close to his value mid-season if he returns to form which might just require him staying on the field. We know he has the talent.

As someone else mentioned, you had a good team so this might be a good example of a contender blowing things up just for the sake of it when it was not needed.

I've found that people are wanting to trade guys like Barkley and Zeke now when their value is on the downswing instead of waiting until the year starts when it's likely their value goes up in the first month as long as they stay healthy.

I agree that you sold low. I'm still high on Barkley and think he is a top 3 RB this year.

Agreed. I happily would have gone into this season with the squad you had. I hope you hit on those picks.
