Should I accept this offer trading away the 1.01 + Woods?
Should I accept this offer trading away the 1.01 + Woods?
OK this is a 12 team PPR dynasty league. We start 1 QB/1 RB/3 WRs/2 Flex/1 TE/1 K/1 Def. I have been offered the following trade:
I would give up - Robert Woods/1.01 rookie pick
for
I would receive - Ronald Jones/Allen Robinson/1.04 rookie pick
Here is my team:
Allen, Josh BUF QB 488.16 -
Winston, Jameis NOS QB 3.00 -
Fournette, Leonard TBB RB 130.00 -
Gaskin, Myles MIA RB 170.20 -
McKinnon, Jerick FA RB 124.40 -
McKissic, J.D. WAS RB 191.60 -
Montgomery, David CHI RB 275.80 -
Sanders, Miles PHI RB (Q) 178.00 -
Beckham, Odell CLE WR (Q) 82.92 -
Boykin, Miles BAL WR 65.60 -
Cobb, Randall HOU WR (Q) 97.10 -
Jones, Julio ATL WR (Q) 143.10 -
Meyers, Jakobi NEP WR 145.52 -
Patrick, Tim DEN WR (Q) 155.20 -
Slayton, Darius NYG WR 139.30 -
Smith-Schuster, JuJu PIT WR 226.10 -
Woods, Robert LAR WR 238.60 -
Waller, Darren LVR TE 271.60 -
49ers, San Francisco SFO Def 117.00 -
Steelers, Pittsburgh PIT Def 164.00 -
Curious as to what you guys think of this one. I am leaning towards accepting but thinking to myself there could be a better deal than this out there especially as we get closer to the draft. Thanks in advance for any opinions!!

Re: Should I accept this offer trading away the 1.01 + Woods?
I would stay put. I don’t want none of that TB backfield.
Re: Should I accept this offer trading away the 1.01 + Woods?
That's an OK deal in 1QB. But, like Chiefs, I'm totally underwhelmed by the RB piece. Even if you have Fournette, you are just getting another piece of the same headache. Can you try a counter without Woods and RoJo?

I'd hold.
I like A-Rob, but that's pretty close to a wash with you sending Woods.
RoJo doesn't make up the difference between the 1.01 and the 1.04 for me, regardless of who you currently own

Re: Should I accept this offer trading away the 1.01 + Woods?
The best way having both TB RBs helps you is if one is injured and the other gets more of the load. If they're both healthy, you have to part-time RBs and that's not a good position to be in.
I like the upgrade of ARobinson and think he instantly helps you a bit. But I also think that choosing RB1/WR1 is better than taking RB3/WR3 with the 1.04.
Ultimately, I don't think your team is a definite contender for the '21 season. It looks good, but the ifs worry me. If JJones declines more, you don't have a strong 2nd WR. If Montgomery regresses, you don't have a decent 2nd RB. If OBJ misses half the season again ... ouch! For those reasons, I'd want to stockpile as much upper echelon young talent as possible. Right now, the 1.01 is a more certain path to that objective than the 1.04.
Yet, a legit argument could be made that ARob+1.04 potentially gives you two great pieces.
This is a hard trade to recommend either way. It almost seems like you might end up right where you started, but with different pieces. I'd see if I couldn't get the 1.04 and another 1st (or younger player comparable in talent to ARob). I'd want to come out of this deal with a path to a stronger team in 2022, and not push so much for 2021.

How about this for a counter: I would give up 1.01/Monty/Woods for 1.04/A.Jones/Aiyuk or 1.04/A.Jones/ARob?Anteaters wrote: ↑Tue Apr 13, 2021 10:42 am The best way having both TB RBs helps you is if one is injured and the other gets more of the load.
So you only need to start 1 RB, but must start 3 WRs. That certainly puts the value on WR imo. I currently have my 1.01 as Chase and that would only be more valuable in this league settings. My gut right now tells me to pass on this trade but we can look at your team first and see if that stays the case.
Here is my team:
Allen, Josh BUF QB 488.16 -
Winston, Jameis NOS QB 3.00 -
You have Allen you're set in a 1QB, Winston is a nice QB2 to have if he wins the starting job.
Fournette, Leonard TBB RB 130.00 -
Gaskin, Myles MIA RB 170.20 -
McKinnon, Jerick FA RB 124.40 -
McKissic, J.D. WAS RB 191.60 -
Montgomery, David CHI RB 275.80 -
Sanders, Miles PHI RB (Q) 178.00 -
RBs aren't in bad shape. I worry that you really only have 2 guys here in Sanders and Monty. The good news is you only have to start 1. But I would still look to invest in this position.
Beckham, Odell CLE WR (Q) 82.92 -
Boykin, Miles BAL WR 65.60 -
Cobb, Randall HOU WR (Q) 97.10 -
Jones, Julio ATL WR (Q) 143.10 -
Meyers, Jakobi NEP WR 145.52 -
Patrick, Tim DEN WR (Q) 155.20 -
Slayton, Darius NYG WR 139.30 -
Smith-Schuster, JuJu PIT WR 226.10 -
Woods, Robert LAR WR 238.60 -
I'm worried about Juju this year. I think in 2022 and beyond he has more value. Just don't like the Steelers offense. Woods and Jones are your other two guys, with OBJ a few years removed from being an elite WR. Definitely need some youth here.
Waller, Darren LVR TE 271.60 -
You have Waller you're all set.
49ers, San Francisco SFO Def 117.00 -
Steelers, Pittsburgh PIT Def 164.00 -
You can drop one of these if you need to.
Overall:
I dont' think getting Arob and Rojo help you. I'd hold the 1.01 and go Chase. You are going to need to make some investments in WR youth I think.

Re: Should I accept this offer trading away the 1.01 + Woods?
Based on all the factors in play here, I would hold the 1.01 here. Chase or Smith is the way I would go with the pick also.
Re: Should I accept this offer trading away the 1.01 + Woods?
The answers show how perennially undervalued Allen Robinson is and a reminder to throw out some trade offers for him.
I don't love the RBs at the top of the draft and I assume that in non SF, at least two will go in the top 4. If you have Chase and Smith about equal (I have Chase above but you might not) then I see good value in that trade as you will likely still get one of your top WRs and get an upgrade at WR to Robinson and get Jones in addition.

Re: Should I accept this offer trading away the 1.01 + Woods?
This is true, but that is somewhat canceled out by the other perennially undervalued guy he'd be giving away in Woods.
1.01 for 1.04/ARob would be intriguing if OP can get the Woods/Rojo part out of the deal.
Woods is only 15 months older than ARob and typically scores similar to him, and now he gets a big QB upgrade that ARob seems destined to never get himself. 1.01/Woods for 1.04/ARob isn't close to me and Rojo doesn't do much of anything to move the needle.

In PPR scoring Arob outscored woods by roughly 15 points last season. Both wrs arguably have gotten an upgrade at qb this season.

Re: Should I accept this offer trading away the 1.01 + Woods?
Fair point.Vcize wrote: ↑Tue Apr 13, 2021 3:46 pmThis is true, but that is somewhat canceled out by the other perennially undervalued guy he'd be giving away in Woods.

Did this trade. He just accepted. I couldn't be happier. I will be fine if either Chase or Smith falls to me at 1.04 and if one of the top 2 RBs for some reason falls to me I could always try and move down from the 1.04 and pick up additional assets.Avery wrote: ↑Tue Apr 13, 2021 3:26 pm The answers show how perennially undervalued Allen Robinson is and a reminder to throw out some trade offers for him.
Craziest part of this whole trade is the fact that I moved Ekeler for the 1.01 straight up. So turned Ekeler/Monty/Woods into A.Jones/ARob/1.04!!
