Najee Harris Age

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

I agree with everyone age is a minor disappointment but Harris is talented enough and will start day one unless he ends up in a bad landing spot. I know he had a resent ankle injury but other than that I believe he has been fairly durable which is a good sign for someone you has had a heavy collage workload and is a physical runner.

This right here! I’m not too concerned with RB age coming in for this reason. That said, it’s not like a guy is completely washed going into their 2nd contract (not arguing with the track record) but being older won’t help down the line obviously. Just grab him for his prime and move him before the value drop.

It's easy for people to just shrug off his age and say "trade him before his first contract" but the problem is he will probably be a forced hold at that point, since his value will be lousy do to his age.

This gets especially magnified if he has any down seasons. A good comp is someone like Muscle Hamster who came into the league old and after a bad banged up 3rd season had essentially zero trade value. Even when he bounced back to have a huge year 4 at that point his value was still meh and fell off a cliff quickly from there.

Not saying he's an avoid or anything but his age will absolutely play a role down the line and unless he keeps pumping out consistent top 5 RB seasons (which very few do) it will majorly impact his value right when you're likely looking to get value out of him.

Imagine what someone like Joe Mixon's value would look like right now if he came into the league at 23 instead of 21.
