Redshirt rookie question

Postby mikemar » Tue Sep 16, 2014 7:03 am

In a redraft league but we are allowed to "redshirt" one rookie. Don't play them and keep for free next year

So who has the most value for JUST the 2015 season?

12 team 1/2 PPR leagues (QB, 2RB, 2WR, TE, Flex)

I need to pick one by Thursday

JMatt
Devante Adams
Freeman

Thanks

JMatt could jump up the depth chart if Cooper and Maclin continue to underwhelm.
Adams could get a bigger role if Cobb leaves town in the offseason.
(Devonta, I assume) Freeman is in the same situation as JMatt with Jackson and 'Quizz.

Due to their similar depth chart situations, I think you have to go with Adams. The Eagles are a run first team, and the Falcons are a pass first offense, so Adams is the only player that fits the team's identity. GB can support Nelson and Adams (if that's the move going forward), if Adams can beat out Boykin.

Thanks for the reply. I guess my only hesitation about going with Adams or JMatt over Freeman is that in a redraft, RBs are valued a lot higher, so that has to help Freeman's value a lot (if he becomes the starter in ATL next year)

But Adams is probably the safest play, but what round would he be drafted next year in a redraft? Probably after Freeman right?

I've heard some questions about Freeman's overall talent, while I've heard nothing but good things about Adams. The 1/2 PPR is also a boost for Adams.

The draft position of Freeman may be higher because there are fewer RBs than WRs, but does that guarantee better production? I'd rather evaluate based on production rather than draft position.
