The Kevin Ogletree award- 2020 winner Dion Lewis?

Postby hockeyBjj » Fri Aug 13, 2021 9:53 am

Don't know if I saw this at end of 2020, but who won the Kevin Ogletree award for an early flash, everyone rushing to dump their FAAB on him, and then doing absolutely nothing fantasy relevant the rest of the season?

Dion Lewis, the week Barkley went down, had 15.6 fantasy points. Many (myself) grabbed him in redraft to be the Barkley handcuff replacement. Scored mostly 2 and 3 point weeks for the rest of the season.

It's only pre-season, but Quez Watksin, 2020 rookie, is looking like a nominee for 2021 after an 80 yard pre-season TD on a bubble screen.

I bid 2 bucks on 1000, and lost out. Guy bid 11, and did it 2 minutes before waivers processed, a few days ago. I have him in another league, but he looks like a straight line player. Very fast. That was extremely well blocked. I don't see him as much more than a deep threat, and a guy who may catch the odd screen, like that. He has been gaining buzz, as the best WR in camp, which admittedly, isn't hard to do with that depth chart, but I agree, he's probably going to make minimal impact.

Seems like he may run ahead of Travis "the future" Fulghum. (I'm looking in your general direction, The Godwin Complex)

It wasn't as decisive as his Ogletree award win in 2019, but I think Sammy Watkins was the 1st back 2 back winner, with his only 20 point game coming in week 1.
Dynasty player since 2002.
I probably should have done something more productive with that time...

Has to be Fulgham because of the infamous Evans for Fulgham trade

Oh no, I wasn't implying he was hiding or anything. I was just answering the question, so hopefully it didn't come off that way. GC/Mac Machine is OK in my book.

Malcolm Brown had 110 total yards and two touchdowns in Week 1 last year, so probably him in redraft leagues.

Fulgham was probably the most expensive waiver pickup last year after he went 10/152/1 against the Steelers

Dude in my main league blew his whole wad on Nyheim Hines after he put up 29 points in week 1 last year. He started him week 2 and got 3 points out of him, then benched him through week 8, when Hines went off again for 24 points. Dude starts him in week 9 and Hines scores 7. Benches him in week 10 and Hines scores 33. Haha. He never started him again the rest of the season. So while Hines actually had a respectable (albeit highly volatile) season, finishing as the RB13 overall, the guy who spent all his $BB on him only got 10 points out of the deal. Heh.
Both are 12-team 1QB PPR dynasties
