Who won off of that Hail Murray?

Postby joeday » Mon Nov 16, 2020 2:12 pm

This was probably covered in the week 10 discussion but I was just curious if people had any crazy stories about winning (or losing) directly from that Hail Mary. If that play got you close in your game and you still needed something on SNF or need something on MNF then that doesn’t count...I wanna hear stories about how before the snap you were losing and after the snap you won (or vice versa).

In my main league I was in a back and forth battle all day and my opponent had Josh Allen. Going into the final Bills play I was up 77 to 75.9...once Allen threw the TD I was down 77 to 81.4...before the the Hail Mary I was down 78.6 to 81.4...I won 84.75 to 81.40! I cannot remember a time where I was more dejected and more jubilant in the span of 10 seconds lol.

Anyone else?

In a game where both of us are likely in the playoffs but that could have decided the bye week...

I went down last second on his Diggs TD and though I was toast. And then won by 0.26 on that hail Mary. Best win in ages for me in fantasy.

That’s even more dramatic than mine! Nice!

You have Kyler or Hopkins?

Kyler. Tried to screen shot the score/lineup but either my phone or the site isn't cooperating.

I also won a close one in a different league on that diggs touchdown. The last few minutes of the evening games were very, very kind to me finally. Definitely the most fun fantasy weekend of the year for me.

I lost by one point on that play.

Though I had it won, he had Kyler.

I’m still in the playoffs, I have DHop on another team so it’s all good.

I am playing against Murray. Need Cook to outscore Thielen tonight by 9 to win, so completely possible the Murray hail mary is the difference.

If you're talking a point or less (as some of the poster are) cross your fingers. Wednesday will roll around, and those pesky stat-changes can really muck up what you thought was a close win. It's happened to me a time or two.
14 Team, No-PPR, 20 Man Roster, TD Heavy, TD = 6, FG = 3, Start: QB, 2RB, 2WR, TE, Flex, K, D

WR: J. Chase, C. Godwin, D. Johnson, J. Reed, C. Tillman
TE: TJ Hockenson, D. Njoku, B. Jordan

14 Team, .5 PPR, 18 Man Roster, Rush/Rec TD = 6, Pass TD = 4, FG = 3, Start: QB, 2RB, 2WR, TE, Flex, K, D

My hard luck team of the year lost by 4.5 points in a non-IDP league so the TD would have given me a win that wouldn't likely have been reversed by a stat correction. It's par for the course for this team though, 2nd highest scoring team in the league but also more points against than anyone in the league to the tune of an average of 15 points a week! I presently reside in the basement and the team is unlikely to move up this year! lol

I lost in a redraft league I play in with both my boys, their friends, and dads. Went up against the Murray/Nuk stack and had a double digit lead with my opponent only having them left. Then boom, down by 6 and now need Burrows to give me a garbage time TD to win. Change the channel over only to see the Bengals decide to run play out the last 2:30 instead. I ended as the 2nd highest scoring team of the week. Drop from 3rd to 4th with the loss when a win would have moved me into 1st. Of yeah, I'm a Bills fan too so that play was an extra strong kick to the groin. Things had been going so well up until then!
