Survivor Week 5 Discussion

Postby Fantasyfanatic11 » Tue Oct 03, 2017 3:43 pm

A LOT of tough matchups this week in my opinion. I had this week circled as a tough week when I looked at the schedule prior to week 1 and ensured I kept Pittsburgh available for this week. Here are what I think will be the most popular options:

Pittsburgh at home vs JAX - Non-Divisional game at home for Pittsburgh where Big Ben performs a lot better. I think this will be the most popular pick and I am 95% taking this game.

Vikings on the road vs CHI - First game for rookie QB Trubisky against a tough Vikings D. However, a road divisional game is what people tend to avoid.

Ravens on the road vs OAK - No Derek Carr, but BAL has looked terrible on the offensive side of the ball. Maybe their D will make up for it this week.

Titans on the road vs MIA - This looked like a good matchup before Mariota got hurt.

Patriots on the road vs TB - Thursday night game, tough matchup but theres no way NE loses 2 straight is there?

Every other matchup I think are pretty much toss ups this week. We could see a lot of people get eliminated.

Eagles or Steelers IMO. I had the Steelers from preseason when I filled it out. Not sure though, might switch.

Glad I have the Steelers to use. If not I would actually entertain the idea of going Dolphins if it is Matt Cassel at the helm.

I guess people didn't learn from last year?

I saves Pittsburgh for all my pools and will probably roll with them across the board and let the people that used them Week 1 sweat it out some.

I also labeled this as a tough week while looking ahead. Thankfully, injuries to QBs can make things a little easier. I'm from Pittsburgh and still have them available and might use them. If it was at Jacksonville I wouldn't touch this game. Even knowing it's here in Pittsburgh makes me hesitant since the Steelers usually play down to their competition and don't go for the kill.

I feel the Steelers will struggle to get the ball to AB and Bryant. Expect a lot of Bell, and short passes to James and Smith-Schuster. The Jags poor run defense will do them in as the game wears on. This might turn out to be a battle of the run game from both squads, but give me Pittsburgh here at home by a slim margin.

That was smart of you to save them. Anyway I think i'm going with Minny I mean their Defense is pretty legit they made Stafford work last week, Imagine what they do to a rookie QB with no Weapons at WR, plus they're playing the Bears!  I still have the Patriots but for some reason i don't trust them

In the past two games, Brady is 57-80 for 685 yards, 7 TDs, and zero interceptions.

He can only do so much, but that defense might be the worst in the NFL...they should have lost both games despite Brady being unbelievable. Now you are banking on the defense stopping the Bucs offense...on the road...in a short week?

You have bigger balls than Phaded with that pick...

I feel like if you aren't using Pittsburgh or Philly this week, you are doing it wrong...

Well Pittsburgh is a good option if you haven't use them already. Now you say Philly tell me why because for some reason i don't think the Cardinals are that bad and their defense is pretty good.

Their defense is adequate, but they will be without Golden. If Wentz has time he will pick them apart. 1PM starts are typically tough spots for West Coast teams. Eagles have been a good team at home and have a ton of momentum with an opportunity to put a lot of pressure on the other teams in the division.

Eagles have too many weapons and AZ is pretty banged up on defense. Fitzgerald will probably have a strong game, but he will need a monster game to win I think.

I mean the Cards have two wins this year, both OT wins against bad teams in the Colts and Niners who have been throttled most of the year, how good can they be?

I don't think they are good enough to beat a good team on the road, period!

Leaning toward PHI. Any word on if Cox is expected to return to action?
The standard is the standard.
