Trying to get an idea where the pick's value is right now

Two months ago, I offered a guy Alfred Morris & Duron Carter for his 1.04. He snap accepted it to my surprise.

Then I turned around and gave the 1.04 & Lamar Miller away for LeSean McCoy, a 3rd rounder, and almost 20% in blind bidding dollars.

....... not soon after, McCoy was traded to the Bills

That is actually really surprising. Alf is a decent RB2 and Carter is a solid prospect. But that's nothing for a 1.04. You made out like a bandit on that deal. Then you went and messed it all up by trading for a player Rex Ryan will ruin.

I beg to differ. Duron Carter was passed over by the NFL draft, and had a couple of good years in the CFL. The only reason anyone is remotely interested in him, is because the Colts signed him. He still will be 4th on their receiving depth chart at best. Usually solid prospects get drafted by an NFL team. Duron Carter is pure hype in my opinion, nothing more.

I would draft Gurley/ Cooper /White/Parker or Gordon. But it could change in a week
I think you have 2 options here, either a older declining stud (maybe Megatron even if I wouldn't sell him) or a young player who showed he could play the game in the NFL (Cooks, Hyde, Matthews, A Rob...)

As others have mentioned, the value here is in flux. Right now, there is a pretty clearly defined top 4 picks in Gurley, Gordon, Cooper, White. People will pay a premium to move into this set of 4 picks as it guarantees them one of the "elite" prospects. By right now, I mean before the NFL draft. Landing spots could change things if a receiver goes to a terrible situation while a RB goes to Dallas that isn't Gurley or Gordon. It will take a while to shake out after the draft.

Having said that, I expect the value of the 1.4 to increase as time wears on. Right now, for me, someone like Allen Robinson is right in the area of the 1.4 in terms of value. I would trade ARob for the 1.4, but I wouldn't trade the 1.4 for ARob, but they are very close.
