Excellent landing spot for him. I think he's a better back than Hyde. They're different backs, but I still think Bush is superior.

Yeah, I've never been high on Bush but he's better than Hyde. I'd expect the same kind of role he had in Detroit.

I'm happy as a Bush owner, but I also think he's taking some plays away from Ellington (long shot, but I love the guy). I was pretty excited about New England being a possibility though

Great sign for the Niners. Hyde will still get the 1st/2nd down and GL looks I think. We've yet to see what Hyde can do with more carries and a year in the system. I'd pump the breaks on Bush being better.

love this as a hyde owner. bush is not a between the tackles runner. so he wont be taking hydes job. hyde will get the bulk of carries and goalline work, good enough for me. only hit he takes he probably gets less receptions now but whatever.

In a .5 PPR that's not insignificant, and Bush is a little bit more than a 3rd down RB. He's been solid between the tackles in the 2nd half of his career.

I just don't think Hyde is that good. He'll get more carries than Reggie because of his running style, but I still see Reggie as the superior talent.

He had 200+ CARRIES in 2011, 2012, 2013 and his ankle was hurt early last season. So he's had 3 healthy seasons in the past 4.

He's a better talent than Carlos "Shonn Greene" Hyde. Wouldn't be surprised to see a 50/50 split. Bush is the better talent.

Bush gets 3rd down/passing game work and that's it. We get it DLFiend, you don't like Hyde, but you're wrong a lot, and will be here again. This signing is more an indictment to Kendall Hunter than anything, as that's who he's replacing here.

Yeah, Bush had 250 touches for 3 years running before last year. I know that the book on him says he's always hurt, but that's more perception than reality.

I was right about Gio and C-Patt and Ball and I'll be right about Hyde too. He's not good, not athletic, has no vision, poor hands, can't block, etc. etc.

From a talent perspective, Bush > Hyde. Not saying that Hyde isn't more valuable, but if you're thinking that this doesn't put a ding in his value, then you need to reevaluate your judgment.

thats 2 years ago. he has played 16 games twice in his career. he has had 1000 yards twice in his career. he was bad last year. he is 30 now. time to stop pretending its still 2011

Superior talent? Not even close imo.

Hyde is the clear #1. He was the first RB off the boards in 2014 for a reason, and they let Gore walk without an attempt to bring him back (according to Gore).

As a HUGE 49er fan, Bush is nothing more than a change-of-pace, 3rd down back. Hell, I think Kendall Hunter can do everything Bush can do, which is what infuriates me about this signing. Bush is depth only, nothing more.

I wouldn't waste a 4th rounder on him. Barring injury, Bush will never contribute, and therefore will never be a starter again, let alone a bye-week fill-in. I'd rather take a chance on a lottery ticket rookie.
