I fear he will be the next to go Peerless Price. Great as a number 2, but not gonna be able to shake the top corners every week. He needs to go somewhere with anther solid receiver so he doesn't get doubled

Titus Young's Lawyer wrote:Cobb is going to be a great buy-low if he signs with Jax or Oak. Its interesting that people are acting that Cobb will take a HUGE hit if he goes to one of these teams yet are considering A-Rob to have big upside in JAX and will draft Cooper/White high in the rookie draft if they go to OAK. It wouldn't surprise me to see the proven player in Cobb drafted after these players in a start-up. James Jones put up 73/666/6 in OAK this year, I think Cobb could produce 90/1000/6 in OAK and remain a top-tier WR2.
the problem is opinion is split on just how much is Cobb and how much is Rodgers throwing you the ball while Jordy is in double coverage.

I view his situation similarly to Decker's situation this time last year. A lot of Cobb's production comes from Rodgers throwing it and Jordy taking a lot of the coverage, but Cobb is also talented enough if he lands on a team with a decent QB to still produce WR2 numbers.

Carolina's still in play here. They were prepared "with an open wallet" for Cobb

I think he would be a great fit in Carolina.

If you didn't know back in September that Randall Cobb was leaving in free agency, you were kidding yourself. I said it then (as did MANY others) and I will say it again now. They had ALL summer to sign him to an extension and they signed Jordy instead. The packers know a wr like Cobb is very replaceable (unlike a wr like Jordy). They were never going to meet Cobb's demands because they are a smart franchise and know that small wrs grow on trees. In 2013, when Cobb got hurt, they plugged in Boykin and didn't miss a beat. They will plug in a guy like Abbrederis or draft a Lockette or Hardy and won't think twice about it. Cobb is talented, but very replaceable.

Oh, forgive me. I didn't realize the best slot receiver in the NFL is replaceable. Forgive my ignorance. I wasn't aware that these small, slot guys with Cobb's ability grow on trees. Their offense takes a hit without Cobb. They wouldn't be willing to pay him $8-9 million when they already have another WR with a big contract if they didn't think otherwise.

I find it funny that you assume he's replaceable to the Packers but another team is going to pay him 10 million a year and there's zero doubt about that. There's some very stupid teams with cap room but to say that it's 100% going to happen is quite a leap.

Tell me what every great slot WR has in common? An elite QB. They will be fine without Cobb.

Janis & Adams are outside WRs, I believe. While Rodgers & the Pack would be fine w/out Cobb, it won't necessarily be easy to replace his production & ability out of the slot. They may change the offense to reduce the slot WR role and taylor it to their strengths.
Not all that counts can be counted. Not all that can be counted counts.

I think I said it here before, but all 3 of them have had experience in the slot, and I'd imagine they'd rotate the 3 of them to keep the D guessing.

Yeah the Packers are going to have to adapt their offense. They'll still be fine, but don't expect them to be as good. Adams and Janis aren't slot receivers. That offense changes without Cobb. DLF ran that article talking about Abbrederis in the slot, but he's not going to be on Cobb's level.

Never said Abbrederis or any other receiver will be on Cobb's level, I just more meant they will find someone much cheaper to plug into that role, and the offense will run fine with that wr . . . in fact, I have said several times that Cobb is talented at what he does, but the Packers are going to be fine without him and are clearly moving on without unless he brings his price down (which isnt going to happen, because someone is going to pay him for his production with AROD). Like others have said, the offense will probably change a little, but the thing that isn't changing is the guy taking the snaps from center.
