Trestman also runs a power run scheme. One of Zo's biggest positives was his patience in the zone blocking scheme.

I wonder if the Ravens draft a guy like Gurley in the late 1st; I don't know a ton about the college players because I can't really follow NCAA.

It seems like Gurley would fit the scheme from what I've read but I could be wrong, would he fit Trestman's scheme?

Gurley, Yeldon, Ayaji, Duke Johnson and Ameer Abdullah all seem like options to me. The first 3 are more compete backs....the last two are more Gio Bernard types.

I think Gurley would be a huge fit in that offense. If he does I'm going to make a huge push for 1.02 since the 1.01 owner is in love with Gordon.

Do not overlook the ozzie newsome /alabama connection he may pass on gurley and take yeldon in the 2nd - yeldon is a better fit for the pro game than the bama system
(and specifically trestman's usage of forte) yeldon was miscast in the bama power back mold and I think he is more versatile than they used him although to me his vision sucks - gurley in that system would jump gordon and be the 1:1 although I know many have him there already.

T. smith would be ok I think w/ trestman as would steve smith they are just midget versions of what he had in chicago w/ T smith stretching the field like jeffrey and s smith being the possession guy like marshall

Never thought I'd say this but Buy Flacco Now! Trestman loves the throw short passes and screens for TD's which can greatly inflate a QB's fantasy numbers. Flacco could be a startable fantasy QB next year

Barely. He was QB13, and that was with guys like Cam, RG3, and Foles hurt, and rookies like Bridgewater will likely improve their numbers. Flacco might be interesting next season with Trestman though. Maybe a back-end QB1.

I got an offer of Vereen and Taliaferro for Terrance Williams. Should I take this chance to buy low on Taliaferro?

You should go back and read some of the opinions on Taliaferro earlier in this thread.

Taliaferro is just candy in this deal. Terrence Williams is not good. Vereen is. Just needs to get away from NE. I'd take that in a heartbeat

A bit snarky but ... like all the other players that flourished after they left the pats the last 15 years ... I can think of exactly 1 that was even as good elsewhere and that is benjarvis green -ellis
other like givens branch bledsoe welker were worse not better .... who have I forgotten... if belichick cannot get it out of them likely no one can

The Ravens aren't running Trestman's scheme.. there's a reason he was out of the NFL for so long.. bad

Actually, he's not a bad coach at all in my estimation. He wasn't out of the NFL that long anyway. He left for a private sector job for three years back in the mid 90's working with municipal bonds (seems fairly bright) and spent another 5 years between NC State and the CFL. He was the Browns QB coach working with Kosar in the late 80's when they went to the AFC Championship game (but lost) 3 out of 4 years. His team won the Grey Cup in back to back years when he was with Montreal and he was named coach of the year in the CFL in 2010.

Just because the Bears flamed out in 2014 and looked like garbage doesn't mean Trestman is a bad coach. I'm going to trust Harbaugh and the Ravens on this move. I'd blame Cutler and his inability to read a defense and run Trestman's scheme before I'd blame Trestman himself for the Bear's recent struggles.

Any offense with a QB that straight DGAF usually doesn't turn out well. Trestman is a boost to the Ravens pass game. If you don't think so, then you are choosing to not believe the truth.
