Hoenstly, I could even see Dez moving on after this year. The Cowboys are likely not making the playoffs this year. Romo is already banged up, and they have no one to take over for him in the future. Jones is a terrible GM and they remain in cap purgatory.
He could have his pick of the litter, and might need to take a bit of smaller team, but could finish his career at Indy with Andrew Luck or some other place with a good team, good QB and good organization. Generally athletes go for the biggest deal, but maybe Dez is smart enough to realize that 90% pay plus a superbowl ring or two and a number of playoff appearances is better than 100% pay and a host of 8-8 seasons.

Gordon messed up, but more than that got caught in a bizzaro discipinary system where the NFL didn't see what was comming down the Pike.
In the past, year long suspensions were reserved for rare situations where heinous events had happened.
Only in 2013 and 2014 did the NFL start trying to impose these huge suspensions for minor viotaltions, and they forgot the purpose of their own rules.
When Goodell turned the other cheek to Ray Rice for a Serious Human Rights Issue while cracking the whip on minutiae, the obvious contrast presented a Huge disconnect to the public and he appeared to be a Heartless Monster who doesn't care about how their employees act in society so long as they tow the line at the paycheck counter.
In the Gordon case, the NFL would not give an inch choosing to ignore reason and commen sense and concentrating only on the letter of the law, and that became the origin or driving force behind the PR travesty that the NFL and Goodell face today, and now the witch hunts are beginning.
I think the NFL was the big loser in the Gordon Case.
