Dwayne Allen >>> Tim Wright

Coby Fleener <<<< Empty Roster Spot
I laughed.

My guess is that the pick was the central part of the deal, and Wright was a throw in.

Well Tim Wright owners.... Here's your chance to sell him rather than eventually dropping him. I see very little weekly startability for Wright in New England.

This move was made because the Pats got a pretty decent pick and cleared a ton of cap space. The Pats also have interior Offensive linemen they like who were blocked by Mankins. So ship off Mankins, get cap relief, add a good draft pick and grab a player who can play a few snaps at position of weakness. Its a win for New England but if anyone thinks Wright is the next Aaron Hernandez their crazy imo. He wont see the usage Hernandez saw and isn't as talented.

I wouldn't call him a throw-in, but certainly the pick was the centerpiece.

Nice. For a guy I didn't really need but got dirt cheap (4.03 in rookie draft), sounds good!

You're right. In fact, someone just tweeted that Belichick has been trying to trade for Wright for weeks.

Wright is available in FA in my leagues, both teams.

I can't see a guy I want to drop for Wright, especially for Team 1. Team 2 hasnt drafted yet

Nope. Not with those roster sizes. And for Team 2, I don't see Wright as a big touchdown guy, even in NE.

Nice. Just picked up T.Wright off waivers last week and nearly simultaneously made a move to acquire Martin in a different league. Happy to for D.Martin as a solid upgrade at the O-Line is exactly what he and TB needed. Have realistic expectations for Wright in NE. Not a huge deal but it definitely helps his stock. Curious to see how Belichick and Brady will include Wright.

Interesting to say the least.

Wright isn't very good, sucked in college, hasn't been great as a pro, and is more WR. So just b/c he switches teams right before the season starts, he has more value? And as the mythical New England "move TE?"

LMAO - you guys are smoking crack if you think he's going to take over Hernandez's role.

There are a few good rosters in the league. Hoping someone drops a better player for him. I picked him up in a couple ppr leagues, dropped Allen Robinson off my redraft teams for him. You never know

I'm not sure what metrics you use to define "hasn't been great as a pro", but statistically speaking Wright's rookie season of 54-571-5 was one of the Top 12 rookie TE seasons of all time (in just 13 games**), believe it or not...

Lof of statistical derp here - have you ever watched him play? He's not good.

i mean, Terrence Williams is on this list along with guys like the immortal Dustin Keller, John Carlson, and Tony Moeaki. It's a stretch, at best, to think that b/c he was some relevant last year after Mike Williams went down, that he is somehow a good TE. In reality or fantasy.

He only had numbers last year b/c TB literally had nobody else and V-Jax was triple covered all the time.

Wright's not good, guys. He's basically another Brandon LaFell who plays TE. Incredible, I know.
