How to move a QB in 12-team 1 QB league

What are reasonable expectations for moving a QB in a start 1 QB league?

I have both Rodgers and Foles but having trouble figuring out what a fair price would be for either of them. I think I'd rather move Rodgers since he is worth more, but is a 2014 and 2015 1st too litte? Too much? I have no idea. Seems like you don't see top QBs traded very often so it's tough to gauge what to expect in return. Anyone see any recent QB trades go through and have some advice?

QBs are hard to get true fair value for because you only need 1 solid one. I recommend targeting a team that has the most need at QB and trying to get a solid player (in a position they have depth) or mid-to-late first round pick in return form one of them.

Rodgers is worth more than Foles.

Any team that has a solid QB won't be willing to give up much for them. For example, a couple weeks ago I was able to acquire QB P. Manning for QB Phillip Rivers and RB D. Sproles in a PPR league. He need help at RB and already had C. Newton at QB.

I suggest not bothering and wait for someone to come to you. You'll never get good value pushing a QB on someone and it doesn't hurt to have a good backup (ask ARod owners).

I've tried to move Foles to a very QB needy team but he isn't willing to give up anything of value. His team is in a MAJOR rebuild and all he really has are picks and a few decent players. I was just looking for some 2nds for Foles, but he wouldn't bite.

I recommend that you be patient. This is the offseason and therefore noone is desparate for a QB to win.

However, it is only a matter of time until the season starts and QB injuries start to occur. Look at last year alone - Rodgers, Cutler, Bradford. When a team loses its anchor QB and otherwise build for a playoff run, that's when you can extract the best value.

I had to settle on Vincent Jackson for Nick Foles earlier in the offseason, just no market out there in a 12 team league.

Tell me about it. Before last season, I had both Luck and Kaepernick and was trying to sell one of them off, and it was a total pain in the butt. Even for Luck, it was hard to get even 50 cents on the dollar.

I would pay a lot for Luck or Rodgers in almost any league. Put them on the block and see what happens. I would pay a low RB1 / WR1 for either. (Offered Keenan Allen for Luck and was turned down. He countered Allen for Wilson but that wasn't worth it for me.)

QBs are devalued in this league, but I gave the 1.11 for Luck towards the end of last season and I actually agonized over the decision for a while. lol

Just hang onto Foles. Use him over Rodgers when he gives you the better matchup. Plus he provides good insurance in case one of the two get injured.

I was in a similar situation last year, after the startup (auction based) I ended up with Stafford, Roethlisberger and Luck. I drafted Stafford and Roethlisberger, but ended up with Luck as well because of how cheap he went ($12 out of a team budget of $250). At the end of last season there were a couple teams lacking a solid QB, and I ended up managing to trade Stafford for Fitz to a team that only had a QB2 and QB3, cant quite remember the roster at this point. So for a solid QB1 I got a solid WR2, with the other guy selling low on Fitz after his down year. I think that's about the best you can do in a 1 QB league, downgrading by a least a full tier of player and that's only if who you are trading only has a low end QB2 as a starter. No one who has a QB1( which is really about 16 players) is gonna trade much.

I think trying to combo him is the best advice so far to try and squeeze value out if the QB, and would let you upgrade at another spot. Don't know your roster, so just as a hypothetical- something like ARod and Alf Morris for T. Romo and E. Lacy may be an idea.
