Didn't Jerry Rice go to a D1-AA school? Wasn't Tom Brady drafted in like the 6th round, 199th overall?

I don't think anyone is saying it's impossible for an obscure smaller school/late round/undrafted guy to become relevant, or even a stud, but it certainly is not the norm.

Well, I honestly may have to start him. Jimmy Graham injured, Martellus Bennett on a bye, I guess I could put in Quarless or Ben Watson and get 5 points, or I can put Bostic in and go for the hail mary, maybe he gets a lucky TD, I don't think it's really all that big of a risk with James Jones, Randall Cobb, and Jermichael Finley all out. I really picked him up for 2014, but this week I don't have a lot of good TE options.

If Jimmy Graham is out, I'm deciding between Bostick & picking up Ben Watson. That'll be a tossup.
Not all that counts can be counted. Not all that can be counted counts.

It's also not the norm for a guy to step into a situation with a HOF QB where he's virtually a clone of the guy he's trying to replace.

In regards to small school guys playing and performing... We must understand that if they are indeed in the NFL, they have ability! It takes opportunity to make a name for yourself, and Bostic has that opportunity. He is well worth a stash. His potential alone makes him more valuable than Quarless in my mind.

No looks in the first half, I don't think he even got on the field either.

Sees a snap, slips, misses block, runs around in a circle. Pretty funny sequence. Good to see him on the field though

Certianly will improve when he starts to practice a lot more with the 1st and 2nd team offence.

Not a good outing for either TE tonight. I picked up both Quarless/Bostick in a TE premium league and I will hold both until the Packers either sign a FA TE in the offseason or draft someone like ASJ next year. The Packers have always gone by the "next man up" philosophy and promoted players from within. Until they prove otherwise to me, I will hold. If this were a standard league I probably wouldn't care about either, but being in even a slight TE premium league (1.25), the position holds value and every usable TE is rostered. Ill hold and hope that I land next year's Cameron or Julius.

I'm kind of confused why you wouldn't care if this were a standard league. Landing next year's Julius Thomas was just as valuable in standard leagues, and a guy like Bostick is playing in an equally pass-heavy offense with an equally good QB.

Was this the play in the endzone? It looked to me like he was going to be the target on that play, but his feet got tangled up with a defender and he stumbled so Rodgers aborted that and threw the ball away basically.
