Lions at 2.04

Postby henry1jg » Fri Apr 26, 2013 5:19 am

Now, while I'm extremely disappointed that Nuk didn't fall to my Lions, I fully expect them to go WR in either round two or three. If they go Hunter or Allen at 2.04, I fully expect that player to be a consensus top 3 pick in rookie drafts. If its Woods, he is a top 10 pick. If its round 3, Da'Rick would be top 3 imo. Guys like Wheaton, Patton, Terrance Williams, & others would all be instant 1st round consideration.

All this said, if I'm the GM, I'm taking Damontre Moore in round two to bookend Ansah, & then going WR in round 3.

We shall see. Very interesting. What do you think would happen if a WR goes to Detroit today?

Agree that Hunter or Allen gain considerable value if taken by the lions. Top 3 maybe but I still think people will pounce on RBs. Woods is already in the 10-12 range so landing in Detroit is good enough to keep him around 10. The others definitely gain value but I'm not sure if they'd be first round picks or not.

What about adding a LB like Arthur Brown with that 2nd-rounder?

I don't see how they can go WR in round 2, aren't you worried about the OT situation in detroit? I would think they would have to consider a guy like Menalik Watson. They could go DE because as of now they have nothing across from Ansah. If they took Moore that could be a very scary D-line, that would basically be an fu to Aaron Rodgers.

I'm worried about a lot of things. They have too many needs to fill with one draft, and they will not reach for a player that they don't have a high grade on. The OT market is barren imo, so they are really SOL at this point when it comes to OT's that could step in this year. LB is a definite possibilty, as is secondary. I would love to have Damontre Moore, & I think hes the BPA right now for them.

WR is a very big need as well. They cannot be successful with just Calvin & Nate Burleson running around. Teams are going to keep double & triple teaming Calvin and dare whoever the Lions put out there to beat them.

It made me sad to say it before last season, but the Lions playoff birth in 2011 was a fluke, & I still believe it. The Lions have glaring needs all over the field, and will most likely have a top 10 selection next season as well.

I don't see the Lions going WR in round 2. Maybe they go LB or DE or even grab a corner before the massive run on them begins. Round 3 is more realistic to me.

I hope they wait until the 3rd or 4th for a WR... Plenty of depth at that position and they need more help on D and OL!

And cornerback it is. Moore is still on the board as well.

As a Stafford owner I'd love to see that, but do you think they'll go that route after dealing with the WR diva/headache in Young last year? I don't think Da'Rick's off field issues are on the same level as Young's though, so who knows. Da'Rick's one of my favorite receivers in this class, but the draft has thrown a lot of curveballs so far!
