Seeing elsewhere the narrative that Zeke “was still the RB6 this season” overlooks the fact that he was RB3 in ppg the first 6 weeks, then RB25 ppg in the final 11 weeks. That includes averaging single digit ppg in 0.5ppr over the final 5 weeks of the fantasy season, culminating in an historically bad(for a supposed elite RB1) 3.5 fantasy points in the championship week.

Zeke from weeks 7-17, 0.5ppr ppg: 11.3
what happened between week 6 and 7?
That was the Cowboys bye week. He got some rest. Then he pretty much just hit a wall and was mediocre the rest of the year.

In those first 6 weeks, he scored over 20.0 points 0.5ppr 3x, and averaged 17.8 ppg.

After that, he never once scored over 20.0 points, only 1x even scored more than what he averaged in his first 6 games, and averaged only 11.3 ppg.

I'm seeing articles he injured his knee week nine, but also references to an injury week 6.

In leagues with short starting lineups, not interested in Zeke. If lineups are deep, no problems banking on the volume.
League #1- 14 tm ppr, 1Q, 2R, 3W, 1T, 1 R/W/T, 1K

League #2- 12 team PPR, 1Q, 1R, 2W, 1T, 1 R/W/T, 1 W/R/T, 1 Def

League #3- 12 tm PPR, 1Q, 0R (yes, ZERO RB) 3W, 1T, 2 R/W/T flex, 1 Def

Zeke was on the injury report for knee in after week 4, then for ribs after week 5. Those were big games for him fantasy wise, clearly injuries didn’t stop him from producing.

He then produced two stinkers of games in week 8 and 9 before having a designation again in week 10, his knee. In week 10 he had his best production of the final 2/3 of his season. This isn’t a story about injuries. It’s a story abo it Zeke being 26.5 years old at that point, having a huge amount of usage under his belt, being 2 months into his 6th NFL season, and looking slow as heck as he wore down.

This is an astounding set of very telling stats:

Zeke had only 2 runs over 20 yards all season, week 4 he had a 47 yarder and week 6 a 21 yarder. But after week 6, his longest run on the season was for just 13 yards. That is abysmal.

In fact, here is his long run from each game in 2021, starting week 1:

47
15
21
BYE
8

And receiving, Zeke’s longest reception went for only 21 yards. It’s all bad

Not sure, but Javonte is my bet to be the biggest over hype this off season. He's going to be the Akers, Miles Sanders of this year. Not saying he's going to be bad, he's just going to get super pushed up. I like him, but not in a great offense, and not an elite talent. I'd be selling at the peak of hype, if my prediction is correct.
I don't think it's fair to say that Akers was overhyped given that he didn't meet expectations due to injury, which could happen to anyone.

I am somewhat surprised no one took exception to the list of "top backs" to be ranked? Where did you decide who is on it?

Probably because OP said it was their list, and were looking for opinions on how others felt. Nowhere did it imply no one else could/should be considered.

Correct and no one really changed it, surprising me. I am curious how he decided who should be on the list and asking him. Thought that was clear in the question I asked. It stretches to some odd adds and omissions and I am interested in his thought process or source for it.

Well considering he was going first round in startups and was a top 5-6 RB based off a few good games, I am of the opinion he was overhyped, as was Miles Sanders after his rookie year. Guess we'll never know, but one thing I felt with both those guys the last 2 years was, when they got to the value they hit in their first off season, they were players that should be traded away, because one way or another, they'd never return that value again.

I don't rank Barkley because I will never take him. He will always be a "generational" talent to someone and reached for. I didn't forget Sanders either I have no interest in him in any format.

Not mad at Henry being that high still. His value for a contender is still right there imo. My list is ‘overall value’.

That is fair at 28 he is already well outside my comfort zone for RB age. Those numbers though, all depends on your risk aversion.

I appreciate, SG, I wasn't looking for a dissection of a list I slapped together (though that's always welcome) but for members to put out their own. Ideally, we'd have several submissions and we could do nifty math things like average and standard deviation.

Failing that, other lists from people I respect here would allow me to see where I might have put a player higher or lower than others to decide if I like em where I put em or need to reconsider. Your list makes me think Aaron Jones not being on my list was a glaring omission.
