Early 2022 RB Rankings
I've seen rankings in various platforms and podcasts, curious what ppl here think.
Thoughts on the top RBs? Let's pretend we're talking 12 team PPR starting 1 QB, 2 RB, 3 WR, 1 TE and a W/R/T flex.
Feel free to go how deep you'd like, and organize however you want.
These are grouped in tiers, but not ranked-
JT Najee
Ekeler Swift Kamara
DMont Cook Mixon CMC Javonte Barkley
Gibson DHenry Chubb JRob
EMitchell MSanders KHunt
Curious on others' rankings ans who people are high and low on.

Who is trading Javonte for Elijah Mitchell, Jacobs or Fournette?

Re: Early 2022 RB Rankings
I put Barkley in one tier higher.
Javonte easy to low.
Id take most of the 6th tier over Fournette, CEH and Mitchell.
Not real high on Akers but bumping him over Connor, Sanders and Zeke.

Seeing Cook and Montgomery in the same tear makes me want to throw up. Either people are lower on Cook or higher on Monty that I am... I'd likely move Monty down one tier, if not two.Pullo Vision wrote: ↑Wed Jan 05, 2022 4:13 pm I've seen rankings in various platforms and podcasts, curious what ppl here think.

IMO, Najee is Josh Jacobs. Not horrible, but certainly not special. A beneficiary of high workload which may or may not be sustainable.

2nd year backs always carry an obscenely high price tag just for being young though if they even show something as rookies--regardless of if they are actually that talented (see Jacobs and Miles Sanders)
Re: Early 2022 RB Rankings
One thing I like far more about Najee is that he seems a lot more involved and adept in the PIT passing game.Forza_Azzurri wrote: ↑Thu Jan 06, 2022 7:49 pm IMO, Najee is Josh Jacobs. Not horrible, but certainly not special. A beneficiary of high workload which may or may not be sustainable.
We -know- that Jacobs can theoretically do it, but it seems like the Raiders are forever finding other backs and reasons to fade him from any sort of permanent 3rd down role. With another HC due in for 2022, his 3-down potential is once again up in the air as a question mark.
The Steelers, meanwhile, want Najee on the field at all times - AND he's shown he's got the physicality to handle it. To me, that's his biggest drawcard, and it makes up a lot for his lack of high-end athleticism. Some of Najee's best plays this year came on receptions, where he's already negated the defensive line, takes a great angle, and forces the LB's into bad pursuit angles.
Receiving work is still the kingmaker in fantasy at RB, and triply so in any PPR format.

Re: Early 2022 RB Rankings
Not sure, but Javonte is my bet to be the biggest over hype this off season. He's going to be the Akers, Miles Sanders of this year. Not saying he's going to be bad, he's just going to get super pushed up. I like him, but not in a great offense, and not an elite talent. I'd be selling at the peak of hype, if my prediction is correct.StripesOfKC wrote: ↑Wed Jan 05, 2022 4:40 pm Who is trading Javonte for Elijah Mitchell, Jacobs or Fournette?

Re: Early 2022 RB Rankings
Jacobs has 52 catches in 14 games this year. He just hasn't had the rushing yards because that OL couldn't block my grandmother most weeks. The reasons are obvious for not having Jacobs as a 3 down guy who doesn't come off the field. Jacobs gets up wincing or limping every 3 plays. He's a fierce runner, but is always getting nicked up in game. Take it from someone who's watched every game since he entered the league. Najee has had about a 85 percent snap share this year, I believe, and no other back has had over 70, if I say the stat right on MNF.mild wrote: ↑Thu Jan 06, 2022 8:19 pmOne thing I like far more about Najee is that he seems a lot more involved and adept in the PIT passing game.Forza_Azzurri wrote: ↑Thu Jan 06, 2022 7:49 pm IMO, Najee is Josh Jacobs. Jacobs isn't going to get the volume Najee does, IMO, but there's worse things than a 23 year old RB with back to back RB1 finishes, and first round pedigree. I think people need to see Jacobs for what he is, which is a back end RB1 in Fantasy.

Re: Early 2022 RB Rankings
Glad this board is up to date on Zeke and what his value should be. Seeing elsewhere the narrative that Zeke “was still the RB6 this season” overlooks the fact that he was RB3 in ppg the first 6 weeks, then RB25 ppg in the final 11 weeks. That includes averaging single digit ppg in 0.5ppr over the final 5 weeks of the fantasy season, culminating in an historically bad(for a supposed elite RB1) 3.5 fantasy points in the championship week.
Zeke from weeks 7-17, 0.5ppr ppg: 11.3
Notable other RBs in that range over that span, most not even as starters for the majority of their games played: Rashaad Penny 11.6, Darrel Williams 11.4, Melvin Gordon 11.3, Rhamondre Stevenson 11.0, Devin Singletary 10.6, Devonta Freeman 10.6, JD McKissic 10.5
Even if he started the first 1.5 months of 2022 as the RB3, how could you possibly trust Zeke again?
Sorry to get sidetracked but I don’t believe there is a Zeke thread so had to get this off my chest ha
