Re: Week 7 Discussion
That's ambitious, I mean, Chubb coming back probably next week. I have a hard time believing a contender would do that, but maybe tacking something on with Johnson gets it there. You'd have to find someone who's point chasing.

Re: Week 7 Discussion
Johnson plus 3rd for a 2nd. Tacking on that later round pick has been the easiest way for me to squeeze value from these waiver wire pickups. Otherwise almost no1 pays up for a guy you picked up the week before for free, even if production may be there.FantasyFreak wrote: ↑Fri Oct 22, 2021 11:23 amThat's ambitious, I mean, Chubb coming back probably next week. Crazy thing is in spite of that sutton has 520 yards I six games since week 1 for a solid 85 a week average
Re: Week 7 Discussion
He's a special talent. Look the hell out if he ever gets a top 10 QB.
This is starting to feel like Demaryius Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders all over again... looking forward to seeing who is going to play the Peyton Manning part this time around.

Fields no, maybe Jones, but I don't think they would get nearly as much out of Jones as the pats are. That was the perfect landing spot for Jones.Dynos wrote: ↑Sat Oct 23, 2021 5:23 amthey passed on mac jones and justin fields wondering if they regret now...

You say it's bad process, but they clearly didn't have those players rated high enough to take them there. I really don't think they regret it. Maybe Mac, but the reality is different situations can bring about different outcomes. Without McDaniels and that system, he may have struggled elsewhere more. As for Fields, he has shown nothing to suggest they made a mistake. The Broncos obviously didn't like those players. I think the Steelers will get first shot at Rodgers myself, but The Broncos may make a move for Jimmy G or someone else.Cameron Giles wrote: ↑Sat Oct 23, 2021 7:35 amThey absolutely do. Re: Week 7 Discussion
I do like Surtain as a prospect, but if all 3 players reached say 60-70% of their upside...who's more valuable? Even if you miss on a QB, it's still good process to take one when you clearly don't have one for the future. The only way Denver is justified in their evaluation is if Surtain just becomes a significantly more valuable player than either and that's a huge gamble to take considering how impactful the QB position is.FantasyFreak wrote: ↑Sat Oct 23, 2021 8:10 amYou say it's bad process, but they clearly didn't have those players rated high enough to take them there. Denver didn't even have to move additional assets either like Chicago did. Fields and Jones fell into their lap and they passed. Atlanta, Carolina, and Denver all took huge risks by not taking a QB.

Re: Week 7 Discussion
Yeah, I don't personally see it with Fields, and never did. We shall see. I think Mac fell to the perfect landing spot to maximize his strengths. Darnold and Teddy aren't the answer, but obviously both teams weren't enamoured with the QB's that fell in the draft, so they passed. We shall see if they can upgrade in the next year or two. The NFL is shifting and trading is happening more, and teams are being way more aggressive that way. Should be an interesting off season, with Rodgers, Watson, and a few other QB's potentially on the move.Cameron Giles wrote: ↑Sat Oct 23, 2021 8:48 amI do like Surtain as a prospect, but if all 3 players reached say 60-70% of their upside...who's more valuable? Re: Week 7 Discussion
I guess time will tell if their evaluation was correct. Otherwise, they'll be in the same predicament pretty quickly if they don't get Rodgers (who knows if Watson plays this season or next season). Taking Fields or Jones gives you much more flexibility in outcomes.FantasyFreak wrote: ↑Sat Oct 23, 2021 9:13 amYeah, I don't personally see it with Fields, and never did. We shall see. Re: Week 7 Discussion
I think Denver will regret it. Teddy and Lock both suck. I think Fields issues are more due to crappy coaching. With a good coach Fields is easily better than Lock or Teddy. I think Mac has already shown he is better than Teddy and Lock. I do think Surtain will be great but QB is just soo much more important of a position.

It may end up costing him his job, but I do think Fangio legitimately thinks it's easier to find a QB than it is to find a superstar CB. At least, that was their company line when they drafted Surtain. Going into the year, I think their thought was that they could win on the back of this defense - on paper, it's monstrous. Their continued collapse is really shining a light on the sorry state of the DEN O - they can't hang in shootouts with anyone, much less a possession game against Case Keenum and D'ernest Johnson.
