Low End TE1 Value?

Hey guys. I was just curious, where should we value the low-end TE1/high end TE2s in a 1 QB PPR dynasty league in terms of picks?

Talking the likes of Gesicki, Schultz, Knox types. You know, the guys that are startable but don't have that top three upside.. Those guys. What would you give up for them realistically?

Personally, the TE position is a mirage. By the time we get to TE8-12, there's really not much statistical difference between them and TE13-20 in points per game scoring.

Last year, Goedert was TE20 and averaged 10.6/gm. TE10 was Fant who averaged 10.0/gm. TE5 was Hock who averaged 11.0/gm. That .4pts/gm isn't enough for me to give up too much. If I don't have one of the royal 2 (Kelce or Waller) I usually have a couple of those guys (TE3-20) on my roster and don't care whether or not they are "names" other owners want. The production is more-or-less the same.

If you can't pick up a serviceable TE off the ww, and you're desperate, try to have one included as a minor piece of a trade.

If I'm trading straight up for a TE8-20, I'm not going higher than a 3rd, maybe a late 2nd.

Like Anteater said, not much if anything. There are a dozen TEs in that tier. I'd rather roster two or three and take my chances than trade anything of significance for the current best of that tier.

Depends on the league - in mine they're gold but our scoring system is ridiculous for tight ends.

With most leagues just 1.5 PPR TE, they're still valuable but you're probably not getting a 1st.

And if you're in some backwards league where TE is still just 1 PPR, well that sucks. They're sort of dirt in those leagues.

Personally I prefer to swing late on TE and hope to get lucky. I miss a ton but every once in a while I score a good one.
