If you had the projected mid I'd hold pending your needs. 2022 looks very similar to '21 in terms of talent, but the top 8 could be pretty solid. After that you're going to be drawing in a flyer RB that won't hit and a project QB that someone will be enamored with. You might be kicking yourself over selling your 2022 1st to begin the season, but once you get that '23 draft you'll be salivating at the talent available.SteveMaddensShoes wrote: ↑Tue Oct 19, 2021 10:11 am I'm hearing this 2023 class is supposedly far superior to this 2022 class. Current 1QB Ranking:
Breece Hall
Isaiah Spiller
Treylon Burks
Garrett Wilson
David Bell
Zach Charbonnet
Chris Olave
George Pickens
John Metchie
Drake London
Justyn Ross - outlying top 10 talent with health concerns.
I'll get flack for this, but oh well for voicing my opinion. Spiller looks stiff. Only reason he's top 2 is due to RB scarcity, but he should be #5 at best. Burks and Wilson are above him. Bell and Charbo could push ahead. Olave should've declared last year. Pickens knee keeps him at bay (if he declares). Metchie and London are projects that need to go to the right system.
The mirror of 2022 to 2021 seems uncanny. Is this like this every year and I'm not finally noticing it?

Have 4 top 24 picks in this class, 2 firsts and 2 seconds, never seen a class get this much hate since 2019....... You know the class that gave us AJB and DK Metcalf? Point being this class will have some gems and some busts like almost every class aside from 2020 and 2017. Not understanding the hate but very happy its pretty easy to get picks at the moment. It wont be for the 2023 class.

It shocks me people are so low on London and Burks. Should be Burks 1 and London 2Patsfan86 wrote: ↑Tue Oct 19, 2021 12:30 pm Have 4 top 24 picks in this class, 2 firsts and 2 seconds, never seen a class get this much hate since 2019....... I'm still not 100% on London being with the top 2 but he's basically there for me, I have Wilson and Burks top 2 and I still have Pickens high if he recovers well.alewilliam789 wrote: ↑Tue Oct 19, 2021 3:39 pmIt shocks me people are so low on London and Burks. Wilson is underrated, 6 foot, fast, good route running, and I've seen some of his leaps and holy bleep he can fly (watched one clip of him jumping and turning for a ball and he just kept rising) people shouldn't sleep on him (I was, before the year I barely looked into him).
London def has a huge ceiling but I like Wilsons game just above him.

isn't it funny how quickly things change? this last offseason all I heard was how much better the '22 class was supposed to be. I remember hearing that the '22 class for RB's was what the '21 class was for WR's. I also remember hearing how bad the '23 class was projected to be lol.SteveMaddensShoes wrote: ↑Tue Oct 19, 2021 10:11 am I'm hearing this 2023 class is supposedly far superior to this 2022 class. I think many classes go through that - perception changes even if the reality does not. People are always looking for an edge so sometimes they'll create a (false) narrative to find an edge.
Please speak to clarion contrarion before considering the use of vetos..

I don't really give a s*** about what people say 1 or 2 more years before their draft about a class, but I sparked the idea of the 22 class being bad in my friend circle and then bough first rounders for cheap in one league lol.

This class still doesn't excite me on paper. As always, there will be players who stick from it, but what's the strength of the class?
It's not an elite or even really good WR, QB, RB or TE group. WR may just be above average.
2023 will have more value in picks. It feels like every 3 years since 2014 (2014 - 2017 - 2020 - 2023) that's been the class to go for and it's usually true.

I've heard that 22 looks like the weakest class in a 4 or 5 year period and that 23 looks like the class to load up on for well over a year now.

I mean I've heard that for a Lotta classes, 2019 was trash with a buncha average wrs and no rbs , this draft (2021) was trash, 2018 was a gift from the rb gods.jenkins.math wrote: ↑Wed Oct 20, 2021 9:38 amNot sure who you listen to, but I never heard anybody say that.ThunderTung wrote: ↑Tue Oct 19, 2021 5:13 pmisn't it funny how quickly things change? this last offseason all I heard was how much better the '22 class was supposed to be. Definitely this last part, then only Chubb and Barkley end up being any good, and you can make a case that Barkley has not lived up to his predraft price as well. I prefer these 22 and 19 classes because picks are just so easy to accumulate and people give them out like candy. For a 1-5 retooling team like mine that is great. In the end imo good long term dynasty teams are built on top end WR talent. If a WR class is good like this one then i am all in. RBs are extremely important to have and rare to find but you are living in 4 year windows with them, extremely volatile injury prone windows as well. WRs you typically arent getting that issue. So im all in on this class and itll be fun to see what happensMjvb5 wrote: ↑Wed Oct 20, 2021 11:30 amI mean I've heard that for a Lotta classes, 2019 was trash with a buncha average wrs and no rbs , this draft (2021) was trash, 2018 was a gift from the rb gods.jenkins.math wrote: ↑Wed Oct 20, 2021 9:38 amNot sure who you listen to, but I never heard anybody say that.ThunderTung wrote: ↑Tue Oct 19, 2021 5:13 pm

Treylon Burks, Garret Wilson are monsters.. and it's got some interesting players (London, Pickens, Ross) but I'd argue this is the weakest class in 2 years at the position.
QBs are a catastrophe.
RBs are so-so.
If you want to load up on draft picks in this class because they're cheaper, more power to you.. but it's not as if we haven't had high bust rate draft classes before.

Re: Way Way Too Early 2022 Draft Thread
my personal opinion is this WR class is very good and will get overlooked like the AJ Brown, DK metclafe etc class. This classes biggest problem is more optics as these top WR's didn't come from Bama or LSU and the ones who were big previously hyped (Ross and Pickens) have been injured.
I'm not arguing that this class is as good or better than the last 2, only that its going to get overlooked for certain reasons and people shouldn't be afraid of getting some picks for cheap now before the draft season comes around and these guys get more spotlight.

Re: Way Way Too Early 2022 Draft Thread
This class will probably fall somewhere in between the 2019 and 2021 class for how good it is. I think the 21 class has been better then some thought, Waddle has certainly impressed and would probably be going in the top 4 of that class today if we were to draft over again (due to Etienne injury, Meyers job insecurity, and Jrob looking great again.) Im not sure if it will be as good as 2021 because there simply isnt a Jamar Chase. I do think itll be better than 2019 though overall. Who is the third best 2019 WR? Hollywood Brown? The third best Wr of this class will probably be better than him. Do we get a DK or AJB in 2022? Im not sure we do so thats the issue there. It wont be as good as 2017 or 2020 and it certainly shouldnt be as bad as 2016. If you go into it with expectations like the 2018 class i think it will be more in line with that, aside from that supposedly being a strong RB class.
