Fantasy Football Apology Thread

Postby FantasyFreak » Thu Aug 05, 2021 11:48 am

So, I thought I'd do this, as sort of a lighter thread. The last few comments of the Winston thread made me kind of think it would be a bit fun. This is a thread to apologize for your poor takes, and advice in your Fantasy Football life.

I'll start.

Sorry I told everyone Penny was going to be Seattle's 3 down Bell Cow because they spent a first rounder on him, and he had great size/speed combo, and college production.

I'm sorry I told everyone not to waste a premium pick on Kyle Pitts. Oh wait, no apology needed...YET!! Ha ha!

Jokes aside, this is a cool idea. Not many people admit to bad takes. Excited to see where this goes.

I need to apologise to Ryan Tannehill for thinking that since he was a backup QB for Tennessee I could trade him away because I would never have a need to start him on my superflex team that was set for years to come with Andrew Luck, Deshaun Watson, and Kyler Murray. I'm oh so sorry, Ryan. If you can ever forgive my arrogance I would most certainly welcome you back with open arms.

I'm sorry I told you guys to buy Anthony Miller.

Although it probably didn't cost you much to acquire him, it definitely didn't pay off either.

I'm really sorry I saw Jerrick McKinnon's stiff arm in that Lions game and swore he was going to blow up BIG .. (but man, did he run hard in that game, heh).

I also apologize to Ryan Tannehill for thinking he was a worse QB than Mark Sanchez. I was thrilled when Miami moved him. Now I know Ryan's poor performance in Miami was all part of the Adam Gase Effect.

Related: ever since Miami hired possibly one of the worst head coaches ever in the NFL, Nick Saban, it has been one underwhelming coach after another. I can't say loudly enough how happy I am that after 16 years of head coaching purgatory it is a pleasure that we finally have a good HC!!

Derrick Henry. I'm sorry I traded you away for David Njoku in Oct. 2018. Yes it was a TE premium league and I thought Njoku was breaking out and gonna be the new hotness. Yes I thought you were nothing more than a goalline back. And yes I still managed to beat you in this year's championship game at least. Still, I'm sorry for having you be one of my worst trades of all time.

I'm sorry I told everyone and their mothers that Justin Herbert was absolutely trash

I'm sorry I discarded Brandon Aiyuk due to 21 breakout age without considering that he didn't start actually playing CFB until 20 (something that would make that 21 BOA look a lot less bad)

I'm sorry I soured hard on Baker Mayfield after his crappy 2019 without realizing how garbage the coaching of Freddie Kitchens was

I'm sorry I had hope Mitch Trubisky could be a capable starter after his 2018-19 (the double doink season)

Might be forgetting a few but those are the obvious ones

I'm sorry I had guice as my 1.02 in 2018.

Man looking back at 2018 that was one underwhelming class in terms of fantasy.

That's OK man, I didn't draft him in a single league.

I picked him up off the scrap heap in week 15 last year hoping he would finally show something this season. Fingers crossed.

Great thread!

Really sorry I sold anyone who would listen on Penny and Anthony Miller as future studs.

It’s so much easier for me to brag on my huge hits like DK, Allen, Herbert.

Now I need friggen therapy since I sweep the misses under the rug.

Speaking of Rug. Ruggs you better step it up this year! Just sayin……..

Ha Bryce Brown…
There could be a big list of guys like that…like TJ Duckett, Kevan Barlow, and maybe the king of it all Christine Michael.
