Trades you should have made and offers that weren’t accepted

Postby squidvicious » Sun Dec 22, 2019 8:31 am

As we bring the year to a close, here is a thought. Knowing what you know now, and probably not including offers where a player was injured, what was an offer that you refused this year but should have accepted? Or, what was an offer that you made that you are now glad was turned down? Please indicate when the offer took place.

For team two in the sig, late in the startup draft, we offered Jarvis Landry, Rashaad Penny, AJ Brown, Marquise Brown, Darren Waller and a 2020 rookie 2nd for Odell Beckham, James Washington and Sam Darnold.

Thanks. Great luck today!

16 team 2QB league with full balanced IDP scoring...

I was in good shape to compete until Luck decided to hang it up. I panicked and bought Nick Foles for 2020 4th, 2021 1st and 2nd, and Chandler Jones.

Wish I could have that all back.

Preseason: Offered to give Mike Evans, JJ Arcega Whiteside and Darrell Henderson for Davante Adams and Michael Gallup.

He declined and countered with the same deal except him giving Michael Thomas instead of Adams.

That trade carried me to the championship in my startup

Trade I offered that didn't get accepted in August 2019:

Give: Chris Godwin and 2020 2nd

Receive: Mike Williams and 2020 1st

I was told the picks needed to be flipped because he was higher on Williams than Godwin.

Very glad it didn't get accepted even though the 2020 1st turned into 1.4.

Right before our rookie draft I offered Hooper for any 3rd and only got offered a 5th, decided I’d rather hold him as a backup TE.

Last season I was super low on Carson and tried to sell him before he starting playing well. One guy wouldn’t even give me a third for him. Fast forward to prior to the beginning of this season and Carson had control (sorta) Of the Seattle backfield. That same guy who last season declined to give me a third, offered me Godwin for Carson straight up.

So instead of getting a random 3rd for Carson, I ended up getting Godwin from the same guy who declined to give me a third. Best non-accepted trade ever.

When Kerryon went down which happened right around the time Coleman had his 4 TD game I needed a third RB for depth behind Zeke/Chubb. I offered my first for Coleman which went unanswered. I instead ended up getting Bell which helped propel me to the championship game before finally losing.

A few years ago offered Theilen for a second round pick to several teams. No interest at all. Kept him for 2 years and included him in a package for MT several months ago.

Preseason this year I traded DJ Moore, K. Hunt, and Z. Ertz for OJ Howard, Julio, and K. Drake.

Not my best choice. At the time I felt that Julio + OJH was better than Ertz + Moore, but I’m disappointed I traded away Moore too soon and bought so heavily into Howard. Oh well, live and learn.

I was offered Austin Hooper for a 2nd. Turned it down.

Ended up giving Josh Gordon for Vance McDonald. Then Roethlisberger got hurt. Yikes.

Got this offer in a SF league just before the season started. Like a lot of people, I thought Baker was going to be a top 5 qb this year. I also thought with his size and the terrible OL in Arizona, that Murray would be a flop. My barely mediocre team finished in 2nd to last place. Which makes me rejecting this offer that much worse. (my 2020 1st was traded away last season)

Give: Baker
Get: Kyler, my 2020 1st (ended up 1.02)
