Maybe it's just me... but this guy is a terrible passer. For fantasy he could be solid to own.. but all WRs for Denver will suffer. Plus lets not go to crazy over what he did. A shotgun draw for a td, a falling down screen pass to Moreno for a td due to a blitzing safety, amazing circus catch from Lloyd to keep final drive alive.
Personally I would SELL SELL SELL as fast as I can. There has to be a few guys that will over pay for him. Keep in mind I am a very bitter Decker owner.. feel his rise to WR2 is immediately put to a hault

I'm not sure he hurts the WRs nearly as much as he hurts McGahee. And I think he's brutal for McGahee. If there's a sell high, it's him.

I still don't think the ownership is sold on him, but realize that this is going to be a lost season, so may as well go with him now, to at least try to get trade value. Another side story going on here is that they are now a sneaky pick in the "Suck for Luck" sweepstakes, as John Elway probably sees a lot of himself in Andrew Luck, including the Stanford uniform ;)

If he sees himself in Luck then he also knows not to draft him for fear of him holding out to play baseball or get traded.

Okay, so I have Tebow on my team in the Sig. I'm not completely sold on him, I would really like it if he became a ligit QB. If I were to move him I think I could get a solid player or high draft pick for next year, I would target a team that was in the bottom 4. I will be one of those teams, however if I did this, once again I would be without a starting QB. Is this a Bad Move as a GM? I'm just guessing but I think other owners might get pissed saying that I'm taking a dive. But if it is what is best for my team in the long run does it really matter?
12 Team 1QB PPR
8 Starters - QB 1, RB 2(4), WR 3(5), TE 1(3)

RB - Christian McCaffrey, Bijan Robinson, Kyren Williams, Travis Etienne, James Conner, Antonio Gibson, Chris Rodriguez
WR - Tee Higgins, Jordan Addison, Michael Pittman, Nico Collins, Rashee Rice, Christian Watson, Jerry Jeudy, Rashod Bateman
TE - Sam Laporta, Kyle Pitts, Darren Waller, Isaiah Likely
Picks - 2.10, 3.10, 4.10, 5.10

It's a generally excepted fact that Tebow is a raw passer but he isn't NEARLY as bad as people make him out to be. For example people were singing the same tune last year about how brandon lloyd would become unstartable after Tebow took over. In Tebow's 3 starts last year Brandon Lloyd racked up 14 catches for 263 yards and 2 TD's...so essentially Lloyd's production remained at a very high level when Tebow was at the helm.

I don't consider something like that as tanking.

You can't worry about what other owners think of your team/moves. Just do what helps you the most, even if that includes a year or two of sucking. If they don't like it, tell them to pound sand.

Like the others, I wouldn't see this as tanking.

And just a side note: You don't really know you have a starting QB w/ Tebow anyway. I suspect you do, but DEN hasn't committed to that.

Tanking is not starting your best players if you are trading your best players for future value that is strategy

Tebow is announced as the starter for the game in Miami.

How ironic. There was already a huge "Tebow" welcoming party there for that game and now he gets to start. I think he's going to have a big game in two weeks.

Totally agreed. That will be a crazy environment. Tebow thrives on that type of stuff.

I really hope he can mold into a Great NFl QB, but if nothing else he is very exciting to watch

Tebow Strategy

Postby MonkeyOne » Wed Oct 12, 2011 2:42 pm

Say you have a top five QB (Rodgers, Rivers, Brees, Brady etc.), and you also have Tebow. Do you sell Tebow to strengthen elsewhere, or do you keep him as a high upside backup and heir? I've asked this as a general question because while Tebow owners cover the spectrum, he seems to be interesting bait from people who don't need a long term QB starter.
