D'Wayne Eskridge, Tutu Atwell and Anthony Schwartz

Postby StripesOfKC » Mon May 10, 2021 9:26 am

Three speed first WRs with major red flag analytical profiles (all in different ways) who managed to get solid (and in the case of the first two close to elite) draft capital and not really bad landing spots either (though not particularly good ones)

In rookie drafts the obvious concerns are dropping these guys significantly (Eskridge and Atwell to the 3rd and Schwartz to the 4th) and though their profiles suck it's hard to pass that late

In my main league Eskridge and Schwartz went undrafted and I managed to grab them off the wire so wondering what the community in general thinks of them at their current price points and any potential they may have

Not exactly guys I'm excited about or hopeful for but at a certain point the draft capital becomes too much to ignore

Mild interest in Eskridge but that’s it. Atwell is under 150 and Schwartz is fast but nothing else
QB: A. Rodgers, Herbert, Purdy, Levis
RB: ETN, Bijan, Gibbs, Mostert, Dobbins, R. White
WR: AJB, Diggs, ARSB, G. Wilson, Kirk, E. Moore, Mingo, Wicks
TE: Fant, Njoku, Chiggy, I. Smith, Musgrave

Eskridge is old as bleep, but he's fast and was an incredibly dynamic player in college with 2nd round draft capital.

Could be the eventual replacement for Lockett. Some people are crazy high on him, (I'm not one of them) but he is at least a couple tiers above these other guys.

Eskridge won't go undrafted in any league I am in, but the other two I have no desire to invest in

Same. I could see a flier on Schwartz around preseason time, but won't be running to grab him soon

I'm playing in leagues where 96 rookies will get drafted, including IDP. Of those 3 I'd only consider Eskridge in the top 40, the other 2 only if they drop really far & there's no other interesting prospects left. Someone will surely overdraft them based on draft capital though.

It doesn't matter what we want. Once we get it, we want something else.

Pretty much going to echo the same sentiments as those above, but am slightly higher on Schwartz than the others. At this point he’s only as good as the touches that CLE decides to manufacture for him, but he’s young and crazy fast. What I do like about him is he seems to fill a role on their team that they don’t currently have. I’m not going to reach on him, but am happy to draft him in the mid-late 4th of my SF rookie drafts.
Team 1: 12-team SF 0.5 PPR:
QB: Dak, Russ, Stafford, Geno, Dalton
RB: Harris, Gibson, Chubb, Cohen
WR: DK, Ridley, Kirk, Chark, Woods, C Samuel, Shepard, Reagor
TE: Fant, Knox
Team 2: 14-team PPR SF TEP:
QB: Wilson, Burrow, Geno, Foles
RB: Mixon, Gibson, Hines, Cohen, Pollard
WR: DJM, Cooper, Sutton, Deebo, R. Moore, ARSB, Eskridge, Renfrow
TE: Gesicki, Njoku, Arnold
Team 3: 12-team PPR SF:
QB: Watson, Lawrence, Winston, Cam
RB: Harris, Ekeler, Dobbins
WR: Hill, AJB, Woods, Chark, Lockett
TE: Gesicki, OJH, Firkser
Team 4: 12-team SF TEP Devy
QB: Wilson, Geno, Ryan, Cousins

Devy: Boutte, Young, Slovis, Harris
Team 5: 12-team PPR SF:
QB: Dak, Lance, Jones, Cam

I got Schwartz in the late 4th...at that price and with a spot open on the roster, why not?

Eskridge is really the only one of the three I've looked at, as our draft/rosters aren't that deep.

I can say I believe Seattle is hoping he can emerge as their WR3 after losing David Moore. What I'm fairly sure of is they want to use him as a K/P returner so Lockett doesn't have to do that anymore and risk injury. That's probably his main appeal starting out.

All late rookie picks (or beyond) for me. Eskridge would probably be my pick of the bunch, purely down to perceived opportunity.

Which one has Mcvay as his coach?

Desean Jackson won't be for long either.

As a lottery ticket in the 3rd or 4th round you could do worse than these little guys.

Eskridge for me based on potential opportunity as the WR3 and QB.

I hate the Seahawks so I automatically hate Eskridge as a football player.

I targeted Atwell in the 4th round of my rookie draft but missed out on him, so I ended up getting Schwartz so obviously he'll be the best prospect out of the three.

really though depending on what ends up happening with OBJ, I do like the opportunity Schwartz will get on a CLE offense that has a lot of potential. Im not expecting him to turn into Tyreek, but I wouldn't mind being able to trade him for a 2nd next year if he shows some promise.

None of them got drafted in our 3 round, 12 team IDP, ppr league.

In the following 5 round fa/rookie draft, Eskridge went 2.11, the 15th rookie wr taken, shortly after Collins, Palmer, and Wallace.
I finally took Atwell at 5.03, our last round, 18th rookie wr, just missing out on Dez Fitzpatrick. Schwartz went 2 picks later.
For perspective, I took AJ Green at 2.12, 1 pick after Eskridge, 2+ rounds ahead of the other 2.

Eskridge pretty confidently. Potentially decent snap count at some point this season, especially in leagues that have return yards, and QB is likely to take shots at him. Love the situation for a fast 2nd round guy. I actually reached for him and can’t wait to see him take one to the house in my return yards league.
