Damien Harris Buy/Sell/Hold

Postby DynastyDabbler » Mon May 10, 2021 8:20 am

Looking for some thoughts on Damien Harris. Reports say he’s the lead back and Michel is potentially on his way out. Are you buying, selling, or holding? I think I want to sell but I’m not sure what he’s worth.

Mid 2nd, I think if you can get a late 1st you sell. I rather hold at the 2nd value.

Close to worthless outside a match up flex play in a 10 team league. He could break a 1000 yards total this year but the way NE game plans I wouldn't count on it. Maybe a late 2nd rounder to Pats fan. He will be lucky to get 6 TD's IMO.

The real problem you have is it is only a 10 team league. Doubt you get what you want.

He would be easier to move in a 12-14 team league.

Buying early down New England RBs year-to-year usually proves to be a bad investment.

I wouldn't offer more than an early/mid 2nd. If I owned him, I'd want a late 1st, but I'd settle for the 2nd if I wasn't a believer in the talent long-term.

Fine flex play

I think there is legitimate upside. Unfortunately I don’t think he’ll realize it. He’ll need TD’s to prove value as NE will surely give passing work to someone else. As long as Cam is the QB those will be inconsistent.

But if Mac Jones comes in and is competent the offense could be in scoring position more often and he won’t be vulturing TDs.

An interesting hold but I’ve never been a fan of trading “starting” RBs for late 2nd rounders which is what I assume the market rate would be for him. I’d trade for a high 2nd rounder on the clock if I liked someone available

He's a sell for me at early 2nd. I've seen the New England running back story before and its a frustrating mess.

I guess the consensus is....Nobody wants to chase after NE’s backfield but if you have a piece of it (Harris,Michel,White), it could help you out in a pinch. Since our draft has already passed. I’m not willing to sell for a 22’ 2nd. Harris will continue to be a depth piece for me. If he strings together some good games I may be able to sell high to a desperate team.

I have Damien Harris in one deep league. Like the rest have said, no one wants to buy and I don't blame them. And I don't see the value in trading him away for a mid second or later, so I'll hold and see if he hits.

I think he gets better usage and far more TDs when Mac Jones is starter, so holding til I can see them play together. Might be awhile though.

Mid 2nd seems fair. He's a possible cut for me, so I'm fine selling low if I can.

I see lots of people who would sell for a 2nd, but I highly doubt you find anyone paying that. He's a committee back, on a team known to cycle RBs, that just drafted another RB that does what he does better than him, with start up ADP of 105 (35 RB taken) and will continue trending down that list. I wouldn't be surprised if he's outplayed by Stevenson and getting the small piece of the timeshare by the seasons end.

If you can get a 2nd (any 2nd), I'd take it. But at this point you're probably stuck with him. Best chance of selling for a decent return is as a package deal with other players IMO.

Belichick is pretty tough on rookies. Do you think Stevenson plays sooner that rookie RBs of the past in New England?

I was happy to hold him going into this year, but for reference I just traded him and Ertz for Kmet and 2.07 before our rookie draft. 2.07 became Terrace Marshall.

It without a doubt goes against the odds. I loved Stevenson though through my watching and reading this offseason (personally my RB5 predraft); and as much as Pats have used a timeshare at RB and not sped rookies along, Bill also has a history of making some drastic scheme and gameplan changes after down years and when it's necessary. Also some smoke surrounding Michel getting cut/traded before the season starts. It's definitely more of a flag plant/bold prediction though.

If Sony gets traded, Damien Harris will put up a RB1 numbers. 1200 yards - 6 TDs. Solid buy low flex option with upside IMO. #FlagPlant
