Saw someone else mention Gibson. I think either Swift or Gibson are great ideas for this type of gamble. Both are incredibly hyped right now and are in a similar boat to Akers, in my opinion. Regardless, I am excited to participate on the next thread!

On a serious note. I hope Akers rehab goes well, and he comes back strong next offseason. As has been mentioned, the silver lining is that he's got plenty of time to get right heading into 2022. What a blow to teams that have him rostered. I always hate to see this sort of thing in the pre-season, but it seemingly happens to someone almost every year.

I was just kidding around and said as much. Things happen because that's life. Not because of a thread on a message board. I'm all for Mike creating a new thread.

Too bad this one got derailed before it could even get started. This was pretty active during the offseason until the wagers closed.

gurley burnt all bridges when he called out the rams publicly for not paying him money on time after they cut him. money they weren't entitled to pay him until a later date. this is after they extended him 2 years earlier than they needed to and he is a rich man because of it. if they had waited he wouldn't have seen anywhere near that amount of money as his knee was shot a year after signing the extension.

Definitely do another. I had Akers too much on that borderline (just outside of the top 10, but squeaking into it if it all went right and someone else went wrong) that the bet wasn't worth taking given that injury wasn't factored in as a void. (ie must play x games - I saw guys adding that caveat themselves, but it wouldn't have saved Mike from saying he won if that's how it had gone)

I'll still vote the No on those guys too. Too easy for anyone to get injured to guarantee a top 10 spot. If it was points per game with a minimum limit set, i'd be more likely to say yes.
