I appreciate the calculators say this is an overpay right now, but part of my logic is Sermon and Mitchell are the only two backs under contract in SF after this year. I've seen lots of armchair analysis saying that Sermon will pair better with Lance's game. I also figure that if it doesn't work out, Mitchell is the best placed player to benefit so I can fall back on him.

Not a great sign that he immediately plunged right back into irrelevance with Mitchell returning

As an owner of both, I disagree. Please let 1 of them take control of that backfield.

Sermon is an inside guy, Niners run outside zone.

Sermon was drafted for the Tevin Coleman role in this offense. He'll do just that. 10 or fewer touches per game going forward, sans injuries to the faster backs.

San Fran is in serious transition mode. After watching that game, the only player on their roster worth owning on a consistent basis this year is Deebo who is probably their best RB and best WR.

I don't know, I'm getting excited for Wilson to return. Hoping he's still on pace to return in a few weeks.

I warned everyone not to invest in Sermon and Carter in round 1.

Its literally the same every year. Drafters reach in round 1 on average running backs because of "landing spot".

They choose spot over talent and pass on guys like D Smith, Waddle etc.

Its baffling but great for intelligent owners.

idk, I haven't really been disappointed in Carter. I took him at 2.01 over Sermon and don't really regret it rn. Sure, he hasn't blown anyone away. But he's on a bad offense, with a struggling rookie QB, and a first year HC.

idk anyone who took Carter over Waddle or Smith who were top 5- top 7 guys.

But my point is that I don't really think taking Carter or Sermon at say the 1.11 or 1.12 is that much of a reach. This was a relatively shallow class, and outside of the few people who thought these two were gonna be unreal studs, I think (at least Carter) imo they've pretty much met expectations

Agree. Usually I am more intelligent but fell to my own demise this draft and grabbed sermon early in the second. Meh.

Probably overreacting to my overreaction, but, I offered Sermon for Elijah Mitchell (haven’t heard back yet)

I'd also much rather have Moore. Moore has struggled to make a difference in that Jets offense, but if they do figure it out I love his skillset. Sermon just seems to much like a square peg in a round hole.

Whoops, I made a dumb typo haha. Meant to say type Mitchell.

I assume the other owner is a draft capital adherent?
