Saw this today

LSU's Ja'Marr Chase is the first unanimous top wide receiver prospect in Bob McGinn's poll of draft evaluators since Calvin Johnson in 2007.

If Mac doesn't go to SF I agree he could slip but I still think it'd be NE trading up for him rather than getting him at 15.

Bears are a desperate organization with a GM trying to get a QB to make people forget about Trubisky

I think Fields is the least likely at 3 though IMO

The betting lines heavily favor Jones going #3. I get many do not want to believe it but I will be far more surprised at this point if SF passes on Jones.

Those are big words but isn't it interesting how some are actually comparing Pitts to Calvin Johnson.

These two are clearly a tier better than the rest by most accounts.

And in all that time only one other WR has ever gotten every vote but 1, almost going unanimously...that WR was M. Crabtree. So there’s that too.

Ouch; Not the first time I have seen him mentioned with Crabtree.

Crabtree's entourage had an entourage......Hope Chase isn't that.

Yeah, saw that as well. Although that was not a great draft class for WR's. Certainly not up to this year's levels

I'm thinking the Ravens are in a good spot to go WR in the 1st now.

Dunno. I avoided Brown almost everywhere, not necessarily cuz I thought he was bad, just liked other guys better. Would AJB or DK have succeeded in Baltimore? I’ll admit I liked Harry too but that landing spot was gross, and I didn’t have some other guys too far behind anyways, so got zero of Harry too.

I mean, speaking of liking other guys better, I recall watching marquise is college and just thinking, Lamb is way better than him anyways.

So, not sure I’d instantly discredit a WR to Baltimore too terribly much.

I like Bateman, I like the Ravens. I would like Bateman as a fan, but I don't think I'd like him as much for fantasy

Regarding Mac Jones to SF- https://www.nfl.com/news/2021-nfl-draft ... e-qb-class
"Mac's 'Bama tape is really, really good. There's no denying that," a college scouting director said. "But you watch him in Mobile -- this doesn't really feel like a big, big, big-time guy. You trade all that s---, for him?"

He'd be a great real-world get, and he would be awesome for Lamar owners. That's my rooting interest... I want Lamar to have a legitimate RZ threat to throw to outside of Mark Andrews. Bateman would be a great get for spiking Lamar's weeks - he's the sort of guy that converts those tougher high-leverage money plays on the big downs.

For the Ravens I'd want to give Lamar a real WR1 and see how he does--it would help set an amount I'm willing to pay in his extension

Not that I doubt him (actually think he went from overrated to underrated) but it would be a great tool for seeing how far he can still go as a passer (not to mention help the team)

StripesOfKC wrote: Wed Apr 21, 2021 10:27 pmThat said the Niners FO is known to have tight lips so I don't think anyone really knows outside of a few but Fields to me (even though he'd be my pick after Lawrence and Wilson) is the least likely if I had to guess. NFL FOs have shown consistently to not be as high on him as fans (who were calling him the locked in 1b to Lawrence for the last year)
Not trying to pile on here but Lawrence and Fields have been neck and neck as prospects for years.

https://www.sportingnews.com/us/ncaa-fo ... yva6lgjni3

https://lettermenrow.com/ohio-state-foo ... in-fields/

"He received a five-star rating and a composite score of 0.9998, which ranks tied for eighth all-time in the ranking’s history."

Not saying he's all that, or will amount to anything, but he has history of being well regarded, so dismissing him as a smoke cloud for fans seems wrong.
I'm speaking specifically with regard to their NFL standing and in general saying that draft takes about a class until 8 months prior to the draft aren't really worth all that to me because the info you hear isn't generally from actual NFL people

Like I like Sam Howell and Spencer Rattler but they aren't "locked in" as the top 2 QBs next year and we don't really have anything actually solid from NFL circles that they are the QB1/2 in 2022. If someone new comes and goes number 1 overall next year they won't be "surpassing" them in the NFL's view. They'd just be better

I guess I'm saying draft boards from a year ago shouldn't sway you that much

Not saying that Fields being higher in fans' minds than he may be in NFL FOs' means he will be bad either

There are examples of NFL teams overthinking a good player and them falling (Watson) and of NFL teams knowing more than fans who were quick to crown a guy based on his college performance (Haskins's falling to 18)
I took your comment to mean football fans are mis-valuing Fields vs Lawrence and that real football evaluators see a bigger gap but maybe I wasn't getting you.

With regards to using "old" data to adjust your board, I guess you could see the beginning of their college career as the start and ask what have the two done over the years since to widen/narrow the gap. Seen quite a few suggestions that Lawrence hasn't done anything to distance himself, certainly not to warrant Lawrence as a number one overall and Fields as the 45/th QB and failing to 8th-24th.
