I think the Harris/Steelers rumors are false. Steelers don’t/wouldn’t advertise or even leak that sort of thing, historically. I think it’s coming from Najee’s camp or some other weird play by another team

2nd year DFF
SF - PPR - 12t - start10

I'm 50/50 on this one. I think they'd be a team more likely to take Javonte Williams on day 2 & they also love to draft defense every year, sometimes even having some egregious reaches (Burns, Edmunds, Jones). But.... the window is closing for them and Ben's arm is shot. The only shot they have to winning a playoff game is riding a strong run game and YAC receivers alongside their defense while they still have all their pieces under contract.

I’m not a Cowboys fan, but I am an Eagles fan so I know the division well. LB is like RB of the defense. Important, but you can find one just as easy in the mid/late rounds, or even undrafted. No point in using an early 1st on one IMO, you take the CB.
For me it would have to be very special LB to take in the early to mid 1st.
I don't disagree, and they can probably trade back and still get him, but isn't Parsons pn that level?
Yeah he may be. I don't know him enough but he is certainly hyped to be the top LB by far.

I’m all for the Cowboys wasting a pick, but what’s the logic behind a LB? They have LVE and Jaylon Smith already—would it be due to injury concerns with LVE?
12 Team Superflex - PPR, 0.25 PPC - QB/2RB/3WR/TE/Flex/Superflex

WR: DeVonta, Waddle, Aiyuk, Nacua, McLaurin, Hopkins, M Williams, Mingo, Wan’Dale, Hyatt

Well, Smith is horrible and LVE is very talented but he can’t seem to stay healthy other than his rookie year. So, they need to draft a LB, but they can get one in the 2nd or probably even the 3rd round, it’s not super urgent, I can’t see them passing on P.Surtain or J.Horn, but we'll see.

This is why I like Najee in Pittsburgh. They'd need to go run and defense to win, and Najee would have a volume 3 down role.

For Surtain or Horn?

That'd be a lot to give for a corner
I don't see moving that hard up for a CB. I almost want to say it's a smokescreen and, if their QB group was worse, think they'd be going up for one. I remember when mocks projected Mac Jones to NO at 28, so maybe they'd go him if he's there back end of the top 10.

Can't wait to see if more QBs (aside from A-Rod) get dealt. Minshew and Lock scream as options. Given what they have/haven't done in the NFL and their current contract, curious how they compare to the QBs after Lance/Jones. Minshew with Fitzpatrick makes sense, if you want your backup to be similar to your starter.

Washington did sign Heinicke to a pretty good deal I think? But Minshew could still be an option for cheap. I feel like Minshew is the odd man out around the league for now. I think he gets a Winston like backup gig with a chance in the future. I hope he can stick around the league

I can’t believe so many people thought the 49ers would actually take ordinary Mac Jones after giving up all those picks to get to #3, still mind blowing to me.

OhCruelestRanter wrote: Fri Apr 23, 2021 7:44 am Here’s a hot take: Mac Jones is going to slip. Let’s review what we know, but fair warning: this is a little bit of a bonkers conspiracy theory.

1. Mac Jones wasn’t considered a consensus top 10 pick until the SF rumors.

2. SF is one of, is not the most paranoid, tight-lipped organization in the league. None of their moves end up getting leaked ahead of time, including hiring John Lynch.

3. When SF traded up to 3, it was immediately speculated that it was for Mac Jones, which seems batshit insane. One of the primary leakers here was Shanahan’s BFF Chris Simms.

4. SF traded up before Mac Jones’ Pro Day.

5. Prior to the trade, both Fields and Lance had trained with John Beck, another confidante of Shanahan, Lance allegedly did so at the 49ers request. Mac Jones has not, as far as we know.

What I’m seeing is that the most secretive organization in the league traded up to 1.03, then somebody close to the HC said it’s a QB nobody expected. Do we think Shanahan suddenly stopped being super secretive and crazy and told Simms who they were taking? Do we think they traded up for Mac Jones without anybody seeing him work out in person?

My suspicion is that the pick at 1.03 is somebody other than Jones, and if Jones doesn’t go to SF, it’s suddenly unclear who’s going to take him- especially if “98% of the league expects him to go to SF” as we’ve been told. I think he could slip all the way to NE at 15.

Here’s hoping NYJ rope-a-doped all of us and are taking Fields at 1.02. That would really throw the night into chaos.
Jesus Christ.
