Poll - Will Myles Gaskin be useful for parts or all of 2021?

Postby jordanzs » Fri Apr 02, 2021 4:39 pm

Time to blow the cobwebs off your 2021 crystal ball & predict the future of Myles Gaskin. I enjoyed his services in 2020 when he was healthy. And he looked good in the few games where I got to watch him play. What will 2021 bring?

I'd say in terms of YES/MAYBE/NO It's probably 20/40/40%. I like Gaskin, won me a few games down the stretch, but let's be real. He's nothing special. If he somehow makes it out if FA and the draft unscathed, then I'll be elated. I'm not holding my breath though. I think he's in a similar spot to JRob tbh

I remember my 2010 startup draft. Ben Tate was just drafted to the Texans. He went in round 5 of our draft. Arian Foster went in round 15. Everyone thought Foster was a JAG until he wasn't. Crazier things have happened. But yeah I have my percentages close to yours. I'm hoping in my dynasty league where I have him that I can sell him to whoever drafts the rookie that goes to the dolphins.

I'm going with a maybe only because I don't rate this RB class very high

If it was 2020 I'd say No

I think he either gets replaced with a rookie, or RBBC with one.

IMO his value will fall from 2020 to 2021, and be all but worthless in 2022 and beyond.

Spent what ended up being 2.10 on him during season on a team with injuries. Still feel good about it at that price. Hoping he keeps a role but always ready to move on if it starts looking bad.

I traded him for a 2nd and a third to the owner who ended up winning the league. Not even sure he used him but I knew I was getting an early draft pick this year. He ended up being worth the 2.02 and 3.12.

Unless Mia drafts Harris, ETN or Williams, I am not concerned. Agree that he is not a long term piece, but I think he has value this year for sure.

I like the guy, Miami seems to currently like what it has, i think they want to beef up the WR's, i dont see them taking a RB early.

I mean...RB is one of their biggest needs out there, they tried to sign Carson and have a ton of capital

I think he's a decent player but there is almost certainly an RB going to Miami in the first two days

I don't think they will but they do have a lot of picks. At least he dodged most of the FA RB coming to town. I would've guessed MIA would sign one of those guys

Will he have value, sure. Will he provide 2020 numbers, I doubt it. I assume Miaimi will draft a mid round guy, but I don't think they are landing a top 3 back

At 35 I can see going Etienne or harris. 6 and 18 seem way too high for an analytically driven front office and I doubt either of the two make it to 50. 50 might be williams however

i wouldn't be surprised by a RB in the 2nd round. 3rd round or a FA like conner is more likely though. chance they start with gaskin, brown, ahmed and laird are slim, they are a playoff team and that isn't exciting.
he was on pace for 227 carries ant 75 targets, and i think both those numbers will come down quite a bit. one of those players who'll be useful, but you hope you don't HAVE to start.

I would imagine he either gets pushed to #2 on the depth chart if they go RB in the 2nd, or he'll be part of a RBBC with that back or one drafted even later. He will have value, but I don't see him regaining his peak value from last year.
