Re: Your biggest regret in Rookie Drafts?
1999 had the 1.02 and took Cecil Collins over Ricky Williams, Tory holt and edgerrin James. Still painful to think about

2018 draft I had 1.2 and 1.3 and took Guice/Penny. It set me back years and I still haven’t quite recovered from it.

2014 - pick 10 I took TE E.Ebron because I "needed" a TE...OBJ went 4 picks later.
2015 - I picked 1.04, 1.07, and 1.10. I took... Kevin White, D. Parker, and Dorrel Beckham-Green. Came back strong with 2.07 - Jay Ajayi. And 2.10 - Marcus Mariota
2016 - Traded the 1.04 (or 1.03?) and Mike Williams to get to 1.02 to take...Treadwell.

Re: Your biggest regret in Rookie Drafts?
Mike Williams wasn’t in the league in 2016. The one from USC had already retired and the one from Clemson was still at Clemson. That 1st round was a minefield after Zeke. Even if you’d kept your original pick, you’d have probably taken Coleman or Doctson. One of the guys in my league took Kenneth Dixon and Leonte Carroo back to back at 1.07 and 1.08. The next pick was MT. The most baffling part was that he already owned Parker and Landry. It seemed like a bet against himself.YouMightDieTryin wrote: ↑Wed Mar 24, 2021 8:05 pm 2016 - Traded the 1.04 (or 1.03?) and Mike Williams to get to 1.02 to take...Treadwell.
Here are some of my regrets:
2017 - Took Mixon at 1.03 with CMC still on the board. There was a seemingly endless debate on these boards over CMC vs. Mixon. I guess I wound up on the wrong side of history in that one. Still don’t feel as bad as the guy who passed on him TWICE, taking Davis at 1.01 and the aforementioned Mike Williams at 1.04.
Same draft, I took Perine at 1.10 with Hunt and Kamara still on the board. Even worse, I was actually HAPPY that the guy at 1.09 took Cook because I preferred Perine. Haha. Yikes.
Redeemed myself somewhat later on when I took Kupp and Golladay back to back at 3.04/3.05.
2018 - Took Guice at 1.02. ‘Nuff said.
2020 - verdict is still out, but Vaughn at 1.09 is looking pretty bad.
Both are 12-team 1QB PPR dynasties

Re: Your biggest regret in Rookie Drafts?
It depends on when your draft was held. In April-May of 2019, there was serious speculation that Tyreek Hill might be suspended for a long time, maybe even career threatening. Couple that with a rookie prospect with similar potential being drafted in KC, and Hardman's stock rose sharply.
I might be rationalizing because I took him at 1.07, but as a Hill owner, I felt I was covering my asset.
By August, some of the sheen was gone. But I can still see him as a late 1st.

Zay Jones over Kamara. I landed Dalvin Cook in the first round, and at the time I needed wanted WR's and wanted to balance my draft. Early second I took Jones over Kamra, it still kills me to this day.

+1 more for Sony over Chubb, and while the NCG played a part, it was also the perceived receiving ability edge.Nanananananana wrote: ↑Wed Mar 24, 2021 3:43 pm Sony over Chubb because of the National Championship game.
Samaje Perine in the 1st whenever he came out because of his perceived opportunity
Otherwise, the biggest mistakes have come from reaching on RBs:
Darrell Henderson at 1.08 in 2019.
Trading up for Ronald Jones to take him at 1.06 in 2018.

Traded up to draft Jonathon Baldwin at 1.4. Tried so hard to move up to 1 or 2 for the two studs and I wasn't happy Blackmon stayed in school so sold the farm for this pig.

Whoops. Knew I should've double checked it. It was Travis Benjamin. "Tall guy that runs down the field looking like he's lost." Either way like you said I was doomed from the beginning, but it's still painful.M-Dub wrote: ↑Wed Mar 24, 2021 9:59 pmMike Williams wasn’t in the league in 2016. Re: Your biggest regret in Rookie Drafts?
Mine comes from a few years ago at a live draft. A good buddy of mine was on the clock with the 1.09, hemming and hawing over two players. He couldn’t make up his mind. I was sitting with the next pick, 1.10. I told him “I know exactly who I would take if it was my pick, to me this is an easy decision.” So he asked if I wanted to swap picks, and I said I would do it for cheap since he was having trouble deciding, and that would ensure I get my guy. We settled on me giving up the 3.01 on top of the pick swap. So far not so bad, I don’t regret using the 3.01 to make that move.
I walked up to the board and confidently wrote down the name of my rookie desire, my stud in waiting I wanted to snatch, C.J. PROSISE. “Easy decision” I taunt as I strut back to me chair and throw my arms behind my head.
My buddy stands up, smiling. “I appreciate that. I’d have done the same thing I think, that’s how I was leaning. I had two guys I liked, I was happy getting either” he explains as he walks up to the board and without hesitation writes the name of the rookie that had be competing for his affection. The same rookie that was next on my list and I would have begrudgingly took if I had just stayed put and let him draft my future superstar Prosise. MICHAEL THOMAS.
