2017: Took Njoku at 1.09

2019: Took Justice Hill at 2.01 over AJ Brown (yes he was still available there) because I was super high on him and I figured he would have been gone by my next pick in the 3rd

2014 I had the 1.01, 1.03, 1.04.

Ended up taking Sammy Watkins, Jordan Matthews, and Carlos Hyde. Bishop Sankey went with the 1.02 pick
Missed on OBJ, Mike Evans, Davante Adams.

2016: Traded my 2017 1st and 2017 2nd to get the 1.12 and debate between Sterling Shepard or Michael Thomas. I flipped a coin and went Shepard. Three picks later, a guy traded a 2017 1st to draft Michael Thomas.

2017: Night before the draft, got an offer for the 1.1. It was the guy who had 1.4 He wanted Fournette. He offered 1.4 and 1.8. Knowing the first 3 teams needed RB, I didn't go for it. I'd have been looking at Mixon or Cook and maybe Deshaun Watson or Kareem Hunt at 1.8. Should've taken that deal.

2018: League doesn't start tight ends. It's WR/TE. 3.7 was my last pick and I was debating between Trey Burton or George Kittle (who were in the pool and eligible to be drafted). Went Burton. I did avoid Guice at 2 (took Baker - SF) and Michel at 6 (took Chubb). Also drafted DJ Chark in 6th round but cut him in favor of Burton at cuts. Weird year.

2020: I had Jerry Jeudy blinders on. Granted too early to say bust but I liked Justin Jefferson and Michael Pittman just the same and I got an offer to drop from 1.9 to 2.1. Figured I'd get one of them and could've gotten three 2s in the deal. Passed on it. The 2s were Justin Jefferson at 2.1, Michael Pittman at 2.3, Tee Higgins at 2.12. Meh....

2020:
Traded back from 1.08 while OTC (aka Jeudy) for Lev Bell, 1.12, 2.1. Bell was cut by the jets, 1.12 became vaughn, 2.1 became ruggs. Also in that draft, I took pittman at 1.11 and bryan edwards at 2.11. Needless to say, I questioned my ability to draft players and gave away my 1st and 2nd (and some) to get diggs this year lol. Screw drafting rookies 🙃

That being said, I won the league last year so it hasn't come back to bite me ... yet

Trading out of the 1.06 to the 1.09 last year because I knew another owner was super high on Justin Jefferson. I ultimately spun it into the 1.14 this year and 2 2022 1sts but I'd much rather than Jefferson.

Loving the replies (in the nicest way possible!) I'm new to dynasty been doing it about 2/3 years now

Glad to see other make mistakes as well, so often you only hear about the "stud" picks yet never people owning up and saying "well I drafted badly by doing this"

Treadwell in whatever year he was drafted. I tried to trade out of the pick, but I think my league mates were wise to him stinking before I was and didn't want to trade into 1.02.

Re: Your biggest regret in Rookie Drafts?

Ok, here are all the leagues where I have made picks in rookie drafts that I regret. Way too many regrets listed...the worst part is there was a debate in my head, during that pick, between the player I did pick and the player I should have picked. The years in parenthesis represents the years that league had rookie drafts.

mouse rat (2012-2020)
2013 -- took the Aaron Dobson training camp buzz at 3.1 over Ertz (3.2) and Kelce (3.3)
2015 -- Stefon Diggs went in the 5th round and I passed on him 3 times. One of the draft gurus I follow loved him and I didn't take him
2017 -- no regrets (I took Mahomes at 3.11 and my regret was trading him lol)
2019 -- took N'Keal Harry over AJ Brown (my gut told me to take AJB but I didn't listen)

Gotham City Rogues (2012-2020)
2013 -- I had picks 1.2, 1.3, 1.5 and took Bell (good), Bernard (meh but not terrible), then Tavon Austin over DeAndre Hopkins :wall:
2014 -- ASJ over Jarvis Landry
2016 -- took Goff over Wentz and while everyone is down on Wentz I would prefer him over Goff
2017 -- I had 6 picks and I think I regret 4 of them lol. LF over CMC at 1.1, Njoku over Engram, JuJu, Godwin, Golladay at 2.3, Curtis Samuel over Kupp at 2.11, Carlos Henderson over PATRICK MAHOMES at 3.8 (Mahomes went at 3.9)

Rapid City Monuments (2015-2020)
2015 -- two bites at the Stefon Diggs apple in the mid 4th and mid 5th and took Brett Hundley and Jeff Heuerman instead
2018 -- Sony Michel over Ridley and Moore at 1.5 which stings a little less because I did end up flipping Michel in a deal for Kamara. This is also the first league where I noticed I passed on Mark Andrews all over the place even though I really liked him pre draft but the Hayden Hurst selection in the 1st round scared me off. I took old man Darren Sproles ahead of him in the 5th round.

Scarecrow Boat (2015-2020)
2019 -- took Darrell Henderson over AJB at 1.8 because I had Todd Gurly. Very short-sighted pick.

Beefsquatch SF (2017-2020)
2018 -- four bites at the Mark Andrews apple in the 4th round...even took another TE instead of him (ugh Jake Butt lol)
2020 -- AJ Dillon (2.9) over Antonio Gibson (2.11) but I was able to flip Dillon for Courtland Sutton

Wonder Wharf Wonderdogs (2019-2020)
2019 -- Miles Sanders (1.5) over DKM who went at 2.1 somehow and JJAW (2.10) instead of Terry McLaurin (3.11)...bad day lol

Klunebergs (2017-2020)
2017 -- Jonathan Williams (3.3) over Kupp, Golladay, Woods, Aaron Jones, and Patrick Mahomes...what in the world was I thinking?!?

Kuchi Kopi (2019-2020)
2019 -- Riley Ridley (2.8) over Terry McLaurin

Kegel the Elf (2015-2020)
2017 -- OJ Howard (1.10) over Kamara and JuJu
2019 -- Benny Snell (3.7) over McLaurin

Equestranauts (2018-2020)
2018 -- Sam Darnold (3.5) over Josh Allen and Antonio Callaway (4.7) over Tyler Boyd...AND I WENT TO PITT!

One Eyed Snakes (2018-2020)
2018 -- Rashaad Penny (1.3) over Chubb (or DJM and Ridley)...and to this day I am still looking for that RB1 to anchor my team
2020 -- Deejay Dallas (3.7) over Justin Herbert

I have made a lot that have ended up being bad picks, with the most recent and notable being N'Keal Harry, but I wouldn't consider that a "regret". I know going in I'm not going to be right on every player and every pick so I'm not going to sweat being wrong about a guy I take.

What I DO regret is when I pass on guys I really like and then they go on to be as good as I thought or hoped. I really liked DK initially, but let all the 3-cone talk and route running concerns get to me a bit and so ended up with no shares, and I had Jefferson as WR3 last year but I took Reagor over him a couple leagues because I wanted to diversify my shares. Things like that are what I regret, and I'm making a conscious effort going forward to just stick with my guys because I can live with them not panning out, but passing on them and watching them go on to be great will always bother me.
