I haven't seen anyone say he'd get 400 carries or 50 receptions. And I was/am pretty high on Dillon. He was going to split work with Williams provided Jones was gone and Williams had stayed.

Feels like he has some guys who were trying to sell him on Dillon in his leagues and is projecting that on all of us in this forum.

Yeah, I mean that's kind of the point. When I would explain that for Dillon to reach the RB1 status he was being sold as he would need to meet that criteria, I was met with swarms of truthers telling me about his big legs and that the Packers were going to reshape the offense around him. Forgive me for losing patience, but it was ridiculous the entire time.

I'm no capologist.. not at all. But my understanding is that the AJones contract only really ensures he's in GB for 2021. $13M guaranteed (as a signing bonus) at $12M a year.. they cut him after 2021, there's no real dead cap hit.

If I was a Dillon guy, I'd still be a Dillon guy. Just maybe a slightly disappointed Dillon guy.

The real takeaway from all this has already been said:

The Packers are a terrible franchise buoyed by two of the top 5 QB's of all time for the past 3 decades.

And it's not just the 2020 draft. They've drafted roughly 1 high-end player over the last half-decade..

If they cut him after this year, they will incur 9.75 mil in dead cap based on the 13M signing bonus proration. After 2022 will be the more realistic cutting point (unless its a June 1st cut, in which case its 3.25 in 2022 and 7.5 in 2023)

So you had a correct hunch on GB keeping Jones and Dillon not becoming a rb1 this season, and were highly annoyed by all the folks disagreeing with you. On a fantasy football message board meant to discuss different takes and opinions.

Hate to break it to you, bub. They've had Rodgers (some may say the best QB in the league from a talent perspective) for the last 16 seasons. They have one Super Bowl. Most teams would aspire for more in a QB driven league.

But keep playing the long game and draft backup QBs, RBs, and TEs with premium picks while Rodgers plays out his twilight years.

The only way this checkers and chess analogy works is if you are saying that everyone is playing checkers and GB are playing the wrong game. The equivalent of slamming their hand down and calling snap when the river gets laid in texas hold'em

Well this has devolved quickly. I agree with the takes that letting your All-Pro center walk is the bigger mistake over signing your starting RB. Unless GB has a reasonable replacement ready to take over, there will likely be a negative impact on the offence as a whole.
I'm a 49ers fan and watching the struggles of them trotting out 5th stringers at C and RG, you just knew that in any high-leverage situation, that would bite them in the @$$.
As a Herbert owner in both of my dynasty leagues, I was happy to see them bolster their OL with Linsley.
