I really, really love Bateman. But man that landing spot is atrocious.

Just have to hope that the Ravens OC has made a slight scheme change and the WR's group will be more involved. Otherwise Bateman will likely never clear WR2 numbers based off historical WR volume in Greg Romans offense

His upside is capped but I don't think the landing spot is as bad as some make it out to be. I also think they will be throwing a bit more but that's just a hunch. Depends on the chemistry he and Lamar can build as well. Lamar likes the bigger targets and Rashod is huge compared to Brown

Ive had the same hunch for a while regarding more targets to WR but nless the Ravens are going through with an offensive scheme change, why did they invest in another WR decoy?

Greg Roman team WR group target rankings as OC;

Bal - 32nd
Bal - 32nd
Buf - 32nd
Buf - 26th
SF - 13th
SF - 30th

I hope so much that this guy takes some of Marquise Brown's targets away. Lamar would have had some monster games if his passes were being caught.

Or if he could hit open recievers. Either, or would be nice.

There have been two times in the little ive watched of Baltimore where Brown was wide open for deep TDs and Lamar missed him. Brown has dropped passes, but its gone both ways.

Lamar isn't the most accurate passer, that's for sure. He's improved, but he's never going to be be an elite, pin point passer that kills you from the pocket by going through progressions and exposing the D's weakness with that and then delivering with deadly accuracy. He's not Drew Brees, but he doesn't need to be with his legs. I agree it has gone both ways, though. For sure. He also failed to pull the trigger vs KC when Hollywood was open for a big gain, on a blitz, if I recall. He tried to avoid it instead of delivering the football. Hollywood has looked better this year, but last week was concerning. He may just be a guy who will have games like this. He certainly did have some drops last year.

It'll be the same story as it always is. This was the same argument last year with Diontae. Drops matter, but they happen and its not a death sentence. If he continues to get open and make splash plays, there will always be a spot for him in the NFL. Injury and consistency (personal and scheme) are much greater concerns to me than drops.

Lamar missed Hollywood a bunch last year. He's throwing dimes this year and Hollywood has had 3 egregious drops so far this year.

You guys are funny. Go watch the film and you will see one looked like it was tipped which is most likely why he was credited with two drops.

BTW Lamar Jackson's completion percentage YTD is 60.9 this year compared to 64.9 last year. The good news this year is his Yards per attempt and yards per completion is way this year which is because of Brown not in spite of him. Brown's Yards per Catch, Yards per Target, and Catch Percentage is way up this season. He is on pace to pass up his totals from last year in 10 games. To top it off; He is averaging 30 more yards per game this season so far.

The stats are out there for easy viewing.

Rashod Bateman likely to be active - and with Watkins ruled out - may have a chance to immediately get targets.
