I've been fielding a lot of DK offers/conversations. Just wondering if I am rating him to high. I have him pegged as a late first/early second in a start up for value, and between WR 3-5. Is that about right or am I way off?

I think its a tier to high, I get all upside, but I want to see another 1000 yd season.

I remember when I used to say this about Davante Adams. “He’s never had 1,000 yards in a season”. I’ve been eating my words ever since. Elite talent is elite talent. Metcalf is also in a pretty decent situation with Russ as his QB for the foreseeable future. Yes, Seattle runs the ball a lot, but DK will still get his. He’s rightfully valued as a top five WR, imo.

I get the feeling that the strong majority opinion of Metcalf being top5 is a little too high for my taste. I do believe he’s a WR1, but probably fits more into the back end of that grouping. That SF game was such an outlier for him and I prefer more consistency and less spikes - unless he can hit those kinds if spikes 3-5 times a year - if I’m going to label him top 5. His youth can be as much a liability as a value commodity in dynasty leagues. We don’t have enough data to see if his performance last year is sustainable through a career, but I’m sure seeing optimism that it is.

Given what I’m seeing here, If I were a Metcalf owner I might be looking to cash in right now if I can get someone to give me WR4 +/- value.

Pretty much; I own him in all leagues but 1 and zero interest in moving him for any WR. I would need a big overpay as well to even consider it.

Young 20 point potential players for years are the type you buy not sell. He will/should get better for the next several years and he is already a beast.

I think your assessment is accurate, but it's unlikely anyone would do a straight up swap either direction. Whoever is going after the other will have to add something to make it worth it for the other.

They are a solid round apart for me. Jefferson was really good but he still had twice as many single digit games.

I would easily trade Jefferson away for DK straight up but no way I would do the opposite. This isn't to say Jefferson won't be great or even better someday but today he isn't DK and will never have his size or explosion profile IMO.

Both are great fantasy gets no doubt but they are a tier apart at this point IMO.

Exactly I don't know why anyone would bother trading him unless the return was too good to pass up.
He and maybe AJ Brown are years ahead of any of the other top 5ish WR so if you have them keeping them is easy.

I'd have no issue with anyone putting him at WR1

I don't disagree. 1.05 overall for a WR hurts me a little. I'd be trading back to get a guy I like just as much in the same tier in AJB, JJ, or even Hill.
