I mean, Carr was late 20's behind guys like Winston, Goff, Daniel Jones, I think even Jimmy G in a lot of Dynasty ranks this off season. It was crazy. He was such a value.
Any idea if he was above Cousins at that point? Currently, hes 4 spots ahead of Cousins.
He was below Cousins at that point. However I can see your point, too. Cousins has been very under rated.
Both are criminally underrated in SF leagues for sure.

Awful trades. I get constant terrible offers for Cousins. People expecting me to add to Cousins to get players like Daniel Jones for example.

You'll find a Cousins and a 1st for Z. Wilson trade in there.

Learned today that Carr (as well as Tom Brady) is on pace to break Peyton Mannings season record for Passing Yardage (5477) - although obviously this will be in 17 games rather than 16.

Tom Brady - 2275 yards - Pace of 5200 / 5525 (16/17 games)
Derek Carr - 2269 yards - Pace of 5186 / 5510 (16/17 games)
Matthew Stafford - 2172 yards - Pace of 4965 / 5275 (16/17 games)

Not sure if I heard it right, but I thought I heard it was the 3rd time a QB attempted over 30 attempts and completed over 90 percent of them. Brees did it once, Carr has now done it twice.

That is correct.

NFL Research: Derek Carr threw for a career-best 90.9 completion percentage Sunday, the best single-game percentage of the NFL season to date among qualified passers. Carr's previous career high was 90.6.

Resurrecting this thread as he just got a 3 year extension. With Adams now in the fold for LVR I wouldn't be surprised if he's a back-end QB1 for the next few years. With Adams, Renfrow, and Waller he's pretty solid... and if they add a deep threat in the draft or via free agency he could bump into mid-QB1 numbers.

Considering that he was a backend QB1 the last 2 seasons I think you're probably correct ;)

The Raiders can still cut Carr after this year, on any year beyond this year with almost no dead cap. The interesting part is, that Carr got a no trade clause, which is sort of a safety net IMO. The Raiders could move on from Carr, but they'd have to cut him, unless he agreed to a trade, and cutting him would obviously cost them quite a bit of draft capital that they could get via a trade.

I think Carr is okay with the possibility of being cut. He should trust in his talent enough to believe there are many teams who would sign him immediately if the Raiders were stupid enough to outright cut him. Adding that no-trade clause proves how much LVR values him.

Oh, I agree. Just pointing out the logistics of the deal. McDaniels wanted Carr in NE, he's coveted his skill set for a while. The system has it's roots in the same on Musgrave ran, the year Carr was 3rd in MVP voting. It would be beyond silly to cut Carr, getting nothing for a player who is valued very highly in terms of what compensation you could get for him. I can't see him being cut, though Mike Florio seems to think it's a reality.

This was exactly what I thought when I read the deal. Good on Carr/his agent to get that security. If Carr does get traded, he should be able to benefit as much from it as the Raiders. You'd like to think something stupid like that wouldn't happen, but we've seen worse lol.

Yep. DC took a team friendly deal, he's 25th in guaranteed money currently, for QB's. Guys like Goff, and Tua, have more than him. For an owner like Davis, who doesn't have a ton of cash, it helps them give contracts to other players in the coming years. There are some other team friendly aspects to it. Cash flow is a huge reason Carr did this, for sure IMO. I actually think Florio has looked into this stuff and backed off on that stance, since he's looked more into the details. It's very unlikely Carr gets cut, and even Florio now agrees that is the case.
