You guys are looking at this from the wrong angle. This is the Lions. Figure out which team/trade would work out the worst way for them and that’s the deal they’ll make.

How much does SF or Washington being in the NFC affect trading Stafford to one of them. I'd think DET would prefer to send him to DEN, NE or INDY if possible.

Stafford would be great for all the broncos Wide Receivers. It doesn't make sense to direct all that draft capital towards WR and not have a capable QB to deliver the ball

Probably some truth there. But ultimately I think it comes down to who sends the best package of picks and not conferences

Dont know if it has been said but would the Panthers not make a solid destination? Top flight RB, DJ Moore and Anderson have proven to be quite the duo, plus Samuel is a fun piece if he stays, Joe Brady is currently with the team still and ran the most successful offensive scheme college football has ever seen. Obviously the rest of the team isnt great, but I think they are a Stafford away from being a team that goes above .500 considering they went 5-11 without McCaffery and had Teddy at QB. They are picking at 8, right behind the Lions, I dont think that they will be getting a top flight QB prospect there, and they need someone new if they want to be competitive because IMO the division is up for grabs in the next couple of years (Brady surely cant play until 50, Saints seem to be imploding, Falcons will be the Falcons)

Makes sense but if they demand a first I don't think Denver would play given how high their pick is this draft.

Indy makes quite a bit of sense since they pick 21. That seems about the right value.

I think Indy would need to add to pick 21.

Like a day 2 pick

Just based on Palmer and Bradford trades

I could see them adding something to that. I expect a lot of QB movement and with the Cap going down his contract isn't bad.

Problem is his real value may not be as high as some think. 1 pro bowl in 12 seasons (2014) doesn't really help and the team wants to move on.

I was saying somewhere else that I really like Washington's fit. They're good everywhere but QB, which is definitely a massive weakness. Some WR draft/FA luck could then address the only remaining moderate team need.

Doesn't turn then into a top flight team, but at least one that wouldn't back into the playoffs.

Wow, that's faster than I thought it would be. Good for the Lions to strike while the iron is hot.
