Championship week collusion?

I am seeing some concerning chatter on my league message board regarding trades. I am in the championship this week going for back to back titles and if I do so I’ll win our empire side pot. I’m projected to win by about 20 points so my league mates are being vocal about wanting to help my opponent win by making a last minute trade. Nothing has materialized yet but I feel a little awkward with this (possible collusion) being talked about so openly. Thoughts on how I should handle this if something does materialize?

If they are openly talking about it on the league message board that is blatant collusion for all to see, any commish worth a damn would shut that down immediately.

Exactly this. No trades during playoffs (and maybe even a week or 2 before) to lessen the possibility of this kind of nonsense.

if they make a trade and it causes you to lose then you need to quit the league after you trade your closest friend in the league all of your good players.

Our trade deadline is the Wednesday just before week 11. Seems fine and we never have this kind of issue.

I prefer no trade deadline. Never seen a sketchy deal during playoffs either. I agree

This. The Commish obviously needs to do something, as has been said. I'd be curious if the OP is the commish, though.

Love leaving trades open, it encourages teams attempting to win to trade some assets to the lower teams at a discount. In my league both me and my opponent went on a trading war to sure up our weak spots, means we both traded some good young talent and picks to teams that need them.

Would anyone seriously trade for a loss just to see someone lose a final?

I could see people say yes, since that would keep the empire pot full for next year.
