Dwayne Haskins - signed by Steelers
Re: Dwayne Haskins cut
Big difference between qbs now and before regarding leash is the sheer financial commitment top rookies used to have compared to now. Rookie contracts are dirt cheap for abs currently so there isn't that if we cut him were Fed that vet qbs have and rookies used tob
Re: Dwayne Haskins cut
Easy to see he just isn’t a professional. This was pretty evident the moment he was taking a selfie with a fan instead of the final kneel in a game. You can’t get by in the NFL, especially at QB, without dedication. Few that don’t have it seem to figure it out before it’s too late too, and I wouldn’t expect him to be any different. Good move for the culture to cut him. Unfortunate they didn’t do it before this game...handle it like it should have been and perhaps give themselves a chance to win.

It's amazing to me the amount of guys that blow a chance at being a star in the NFL due to behavioural issues. Blackmon, Guice, Haskins, etc. The list is hundreds of names long. So much talent but not enough between their ears to take advantage of it. Just crazyFiremanEd wrote: ↑Mon Dec 28, 2020 6:59 pm Easy to see he just isn’t a professional. Also crazy how much they guarantee with their rookie deals (at least the round 1 picks)steelman wrote: ↑Mon Dec 28, 2020 7:40 pmIt's amazing to me the amount of guys that blow a chance at being a star in the NFL due to behavioural issues. It's really not that much in comparison to deals veterans get, and it's why QBs on rookie deals are so valuable. It's a far different landscape than back in the day when the #1 overall pick ended up becoming the highest paid player in the league.Jigga94 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 28, 2020 7:50 pmAlso crazy how much they guarantee with their rookie deals (at least the round 1 picks)steelman wrote: ↑Mon Dec 28, 2020 7:40 pmIt's amazing to me the amount of guys that blow a chance at being a star in the NFL due to behavioural issues. Ron will want a vet but Dak won't be available and they will choose Kyle Allen over the others. Ben/Ryan/Stafford wouldn't shock me. Neither would Smith getting another shotPrison_Mike wrote: ↑Mon Dec 28, 2020 11:25 am Is WFT likely out of the running for a top QB with their draft position?
Who makes the most sense to bring in? Notable FA QBs: Dak, Rivers, Trubisky, Cam

Was thinking the same. Around the same time Haskins was benched (and eventually lost his captaincy), McLaurin was being voted a Captain.

Parahrasing- Dwayne Haskins was voted a team captain because he was the quarterback. McLaurin earned it from Day 1 last year. Even with a different coaching staff, everyone knew that McLaurin just oozes leadership and maturity. You don't have to have a bombastic personality to be a leader. McLaurin is humble, mature, smart and has a seasoning well beyond his years.

Re: Dwayne Haskins cut
This happened in my league as well.
In 2020 he took Herbert, so I think hes broken the streak.
Re: Dwayne Haskins cut
I don't think we will see him sign anywhere. The NFL has no patience for immaturity when you play poorly. Been a bit since Ohio State has produced an NFL caliber QB, wonder if that hurts Fields stock?
I am just a guy sharing some thoughts
