Your worst team to win the championship

Postby joeday » Sun Dec 27, 2020 10:27 pm

Lets have a little fun...either due to injuries or some bad draft picks or some really good luck, which is your worst team to win the championship?

Here's mine:
QB - Drew Brees
RB - Nick Chubb, JD McKissic
WR - DeAndre Hopkins, Allen Robinson, Cooper Kupp
TE - Mike Gesicki
FLEX - Hayden Hurst
K - Harrison Butker
D/ST - Arizona Cardinals

Lost MT and Chubb on and off all year, lost Dak for the season, lost Boyd (and a lot of his upside once Burrows got hurt), had no real RB2 all season (and some weeks had no RB1 either), was 5-6 going into week 12 and needed to win 12 and 13 to get to the playoffs, was a huge dog in all 3 rounds. Won the ship 143.45 to 137 thanks to Aaron Jones, Derrick Henry and Gostkowski combining for less than 25 points.

QB: Mahomes, Fields, Love
RB: Bijan, ETN, Pollard, Achane, Herbert

This is why I think people are always far top quick to say 'blow it up', or 'rebuild and sell everyone off'. Once you are in the playoffs, you always have a shot
Team 1: Superflex PPR. 35 keeper. 1 qb, 1 Superflex, 2 rb, 2wr, 4 flex, 1 te
QB: Rodgers, Allen, Lance, M.White, Bridgwater
RB: Fournette, Pollard, Chubb, Dillon, C-Patt, J.Cook, K.William, JRob
WR: Adams, Keenan Allen, Evans, Mooney, Juju, Corey Davis, G.Davis, Van Jefferson, Chark, Atwell
TE: Kelce, Waller, Tonyan, Brate, Taysom

Team 2. PPR. 14 teamer. 1qb, 2 rb, 2 wr, 2 wr/rb, 1 wr/te 1 te, k, p, various IDP
QB: Hurts, Ryan, Watson
RB: Barkley, Mixon, CEH, Penny, Gibson, Hunt
Rhamondre
WR: Hill, Adams, Chase, Brown, Toney, Chark, Gage, Campbell, OBJ, Reagor, Mims, Marshall, Wandale, Bell,
TE: Kittle, Waller, Henry, Njoku

Team 1 in my sig isnt a bad team overall by any means, but it's my lucky winner. Mahomess and Allen were studs and my 3 WR Tyreek/DJM/Cooks get the job done. Andrews was good most weeks at TE and I had Henry spot start, sometimes at flex.

RB is by far my biggest issue. Last year I had my worst year in the league. Mahomes missed that stretch and I didn't have Allen yet. Some other bad luck but I ended with 1.02. I almost always keep little to no RB, which is a problem always drafting later in the 1st and them all being gone. In 2017 for example, 7 RB were selected before I snagged Corey Davis at 1.08. great pick at the time. Anyways, I only keep Mostert this year and happily draft JT. I've basically rolled with the 2 most weeks but Mostert has missed a lot of time gue to injury. I was able to snag Wilson and Gaskin who were very clutch. Even McKissic gave me some needed flex points.

I had won the league 2 years ago with bad RB as well practically on the back of Mahomes 50 TD year. Hopefully JT is the RB1 I've been missing and continue to make runs at the ship
