Crowder, perriman, mims, berrios, and johnson? Has to be bottom 5 in the league. Crowder is good and Perriman is serviceable. Neither stay healthy. Mims could be their alpha, but I'm not sure yet. He also can't stay healthy.

Some of it just the brutal offensive scheme, but they badly need at least one capable WR.
I mean, it's not as bad as their positions though. Crowder is a great slot, Perriman is best suited as maybe the WR4/situational deep threat and Mims is a good outside target that could progress. Throw in another WR2 (Corey Davis?) into the mix and it's a fine group. You have a good point with scheme though. None of these guys are going to win all the time on their own, but a group like Mins/Davis/Crowder/Perriman would get it done for most teams

We're like opposite sides of the same coin.

You see nothing but the horror show #'s.

I see nothing but the horror show organization,
Well I agree it is a horror show.

I thought he was massive reach when drafted. I evaluated him coming into the league as a major risk. He simply doesn't look to have the necessary skill sets to be a star in this league. Too many ignored the significant drop off in his game his last year of college. He threw way too many interceptions his last year. He was always suspect reading defenses. Nothing has changed.
How was Darnold a massive reach when many had him as the top QB in his draft class?
And if Darnold is a massive reach, how are any of this year's QBs not a massive reach, outside of Lawrence?

The Jets likely want to trade down, but I doubt any team will want to pay anything significant to trade up considering the QB prospect available and the fact that there are multiple QB prospects this year.
If you read my post I said; I thought he was a massive reach.

I am well aware the Jet's didn't think so. Baker and Allen were the QB's I was really high on in that draft. I did like Jackson's upside but felt Allen was the long term steal in the draft due to superior arm velocity and mechanics.

This past year I believed Herbert would be the long term steal due to his arm mechanics which are pretty close to Allen's.

Some scouts liked Darnold coming out but I thought he had a high bust factor and to date nothing really changes my evaluation. While I do expect him to get better with coaching and maybe turn into a decent QB but if your banking on him in fantasy, IMO, he will continue to disappoint.

I will be shocked if the Jets pass on a QB this draft, but then again they do a lot of stupid things.

He makes bone headed plays no doubt. But anytime I watch him he does something where I'm just thinking "Wow that's a big boy throw" and that's all I need to hold.

Looking more and more like Darnold will be a Jet in 2021. I've had a lot more interest in my leagues for him lately. With all the picks the jets are going to have and the likely new offensive system, he may be a nice buy low in SF.

How is it looking more likely he will stay?

Twitter reports, including those from Adam Schefter. I've been seeing more and more "insiders" speculate he stays.

Obviously it's too soon to say anything for sure, but if he does end up staying put hes a cheap speculative add.

To drum up interest and build his trade value... Jets are taking a QB at 2.

Drafting a defensive coach doesn't clarify much. Knowing the OC is going to mean more.

Even if he stays they'll likely be a heavy run team. I'd sell high if/when an opportunity arises.

Good QBs make bad teams better, and he's never really done that.

The OC is Mike LaFleur (GB HC Matt LaFleur's brother) the 49ers passing game coordinator.

Unless they see Darnold as being CLEARLY better than any QB available to them in the draft, they will be taking a QB to give Douglas/Saleh a completely clean slate to work with and the full advantage of the rookie contract window at QB. Keeping Darnold just means they have to pay him after this season if they want to keep him, and paying non-elite QBs has proven to be a poor investment. Take a rookie and you completely reset that clock and can fully utilize the cap space they have to bring in or extend vets at other positions. Any praise for Darnold coming out of NY now is all just to try and build, or at least maintain, his trade value so they can move on to the next QB.

They will probably shop him around then. If his offense is anything like San Frans its gonna be rough on a rookie to learn it. If they cant get anything for Darnold they probably just let him play out his last year and leave. Personally I don't see Fields in that offense so how they handle pick 2 is interesting.

Living in Jersey, I hear a bit of the local beat writer news. Several are reporting that the Jets ride with Sam in 2021.
If he shows improvement, they make a choice next offseason. If he continues to be unimpressive, the Jets likely have an early draft pick next year to use on a QB.

The Jets missed out on the big prize in Lawrence. With him out of the equation, it looks like a much tougher decision to roll with Darnold vs any other rookie QB.

But that’s not to say that the Jets don’t keep Darnold AND draft a QB at 2. Make it a true competition. Although that’s opening a can of worms there too.

Reading same things. His rookie year he played in a similar offense to SF, so there's some familiarity.

When I thought Jets could get Lawrence it was easy to say bye to Sam. Now that we're not getting him I have my doubts. Like someone else said, there are those plays he makes that not many QBs can, that make you jump out of your chair. Of course, there are dumb INTs that do the same... :wall:

I think he's going to get 1 more chance. I'll be sick to my stomach if we draft another QB at #2 and don't get serious help on O-line and at WR.
