Is Akers becoming a must start? If I get through this week, I'll have to start deciding between him, Ronald Jones and DJ Moore. I can start 2 of them. Going to be awfully hard to sit Akers after last nights performance. 20+ points without a TD is a huge game. I also have CEH on my bench, but don't think I can start him no matter what he does this week. His ceiling is high, but his floor is very low.

Well the Rams face the Jets next week, so that probably bodes well for Akers. Seattle in week 16 is another solid matchup for him.

I’d consider him the best of the 4 options you mentioned. He’s probably a must start for most people, but would say that technically he’s still matchup dependent. His final two matchups though are decent and most likely don’t have enough better options to where Akers isn’t at least their top flex.

I'm on a bye this week. I own Akers and.... Gibson, Jacobs, DJM.. I've been shockingly healthy all year until now (legitmately, my starters totaled for a combined three missed starts all year).

I was worried all of this was catching up to me / some of those key guys won't be back next week. Akers now seems like a more than suitable replacement.

Same boat mate.
DJ Moore on COVID list with ankle injury, may or may not play, will he be effective if he does?
Jacobs ankle injury, may or may not play, will he be effective if he does?
Evans with a hamstring injury, may or may not play, will he be effective if he does?
Godwin with a finger procedure to remove some screws, likely to play but how is his hand feeling?
Swift coming off a 3 week layoff due to concussion and getting sick, may or may not play, will he be effective if he does?
CEH coming off of getting sick, may or may not play, will he be effective if he does? He hasn't been too hot regardless these past 5-6 weeks anyways

Going to be a quick trip to the playoffs for me I reckon...

Akers went 29/171 and his longest run was only 35 yards. So, even without that, he goes 28/136. Just a testament to how dominant a run-blocking performance that was from the Rams, and of course Akers maximized it.

I did not watch the game, did NE just not show up on defense?

There's only so much a defense can do when their offense can't do anything at all.

All I know is Bill called the whole D together after they got down big early for a reason. It's like the Rams offense surprised them or something. Add in a one-dimensional offense and a quality opponent and it was a real, never-really-competitive stinker.

Akers had 80 rushing yards in the first two drives. Just looked unstoppable

NE defense was bad. Surprising after they manhandled LAC last week.

LAR played more 2TE sets instead of 3WR sets which hugely helped Akers run game. It's as if they finally figured out how to block for him so he didn't have to get hit in the backfield.

I've heard/read commentary that they going 2 TE like that was unusual, but I coulda sworn they went TE heavy in the latter part of last year, which seemed to coincide in a drop in Kupp's floor.

Suddenly I don't feel as bad for taking Akers over Swift and Jefferson, although I'd still be happier with Jefferson, he's legit.

Was Higbee/Everett injured? I feel like both had decent seasons but they may have not went 2TE much due to injury

I like Akers, actually think he'll be a stud and maybe best in the 2020 class.

Jets are winless, but they are playing hard to win and can defend the run. I wouldn't call the Jets a walkover.
