Might as well start this, been needing a guy in my league to lose ONE more game for the last 4 weeks to cement the 1.02 for myself and this week is hopefully the one to do it, doesn't help that he has Goff who has already scored a rushing TD, fingers crossed they run the rest of the game and Zeke/Calvin/Cooks put up duds

I was so close to not playing Akers. If DJM was healthy, he'd be on my bench still. Injuries are a god send sometimes. He's having a monster game so far.

does Akers look slow to anyone else, on his 16yard catch and his 35yard run it looked like he never went to another gear. In college I thought he looked faster than he does here

Started Akers due to uncertainty with Swift and Gibson likely being out. 100 yards in two posessions, wow!

He doesn’t look “slow” to me. He looks like he probably doesn’t have the extra gear to dust everyone on the field anytime he gets a hint of daylight, but definitely not slow.

That's what I was thinking. Could've busted some of those runs if he was Jamaal Charles lol not sure why I was reminded of Jamaal on that long run, but here we are

I don't think Akers has the extra gear to leave guys behind. As for those 2 plays you're talking about, I don't feel like he was going full speed. It seemed to me like he was going about 75% or so and trying to evaluate a way to get around the remaining defenders, rather than just running into them at full speed.

He's not a burner, but he's fast enough to get the job done.

Oh I agree about the extra gear part, I just thought he had more juice/another gear than he's shown but maybe that was just against college players. Still like his smoothness, it throws defenders off how easily he swivels his hips and changes direction.

Yea, he's definitely faster than he showed there.

But he knows he's not a burner at the NFL level (was in CFB).. hopefully he gets a little better at diagnosing when he can get around them, and when he just needs to get the yards he can.
