if he even sniffs a sub 4.5 at the combine he'd be a problem on the outside. Can anyone more qualified than myself comment on his route running?

Seems unlikely a team would draft him as a WR. It would cost the team more money.

He's a bigger mismatch at TE, where he'll see matchups against linebackers and CB2s and CB3s. If it's not broke, don't fix it.

I haven't watched much but does he have the Engram slight tweener thing going on? He looks like a WR.

Oh I know I just meant that that prior statement makes it sounds like he's got significant size on the tweener type TEs. Honestly a similar purely physical profile to him to me is chase claypool

Have you seen Eric Ebron's college tape?

No but now I'm going to go look... Guessing I'll see a lot of the same.

Edit:First one to come up on YouTube looks like he had a good catch radius and got separation with ease. I'm not good at looking at route running so I'm unsure of this is because he was a good route runner or used his athleticism. Didn't see much contested catches however is was only a small sample. So why didn't he translate to the NFL?

Playing TE in the NFL is very, very hard; and it's hard to carry over College dominance at the position into the NFL.

Its hard to carry over college dominance at any position to the NFL. Torching the SEC also carries a lot more weight than torching any other conference. I also think Kyle Pitts just looks like a more fluid athlete than Ebron.
