I just watched my first videos of Pitts. I can see why people are big on him. Love that he catches the ball away from his body - he goes and gets it.

I think Belichick will be very interested.

As for fantasy, his value for me is heavily based on how high he gets taken and to what team. If he goes to a good franchise with a good to great QB, I'd consider him at whatever good ADP is. If he's on a bad franchise with a weak QB, I will take him after most owners would.

Kyle sure gets alot of love. I do think he will be gone in most of my leagues before I get my hands on him, but that likely will make me reach for him once.

Where are the landing spots you want to avoid for Pitts? Places that if he were drafted there you wouldn't want anything to do with him?

It might be easier to name the spots and capital that would justify the hype. A bunch of people on twitter are ranking him as the dynasty TE4 already. For me, no situation justifies that ranking.

Agree.

The Pats will have to make a significant move up to get him IMO. He should go top 8 in the NFL draft IMO.

Fantasy wise, I agree location will matter big time but in non SF leagues he could be in the conversation for me around 1.5 range which is way higher than I would normally consider a TE. He may be the next big thing at TE by year 3.

I'm considering him at 1.5 in my SF league, still not 100% sure but it would be nice to finally have that starting TE

I think it's foolish to draft him that high expecting him to be a locked an loaded starter from day 1.

I love Pitts, but it seems that everyone here is forgetting the golden dynasty rule...TEs rarely translate into the NFL. If they do, it takes years to become fantasy relevant
The Other Woman Dynasty League - 12 Team PPR (QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, TE, 2 Flex)
QB: Herbert, Lance, Stafford
RB: Bijan, Hall, Cook, Chubb, Mattison
WR: Adams, Hill, Hopkins, Robinson
TE: Waller, Engram
-
You’re in this for Life - 12 Team 0.5 PPR
(QB, 1 RB, 1 WR, TE, 3 Flex)

QB: Fields, Young, Richardson, Smith
RB: Bijan, Gibbs, A. Jones
WR: Metcalf, JSN, Addison, Q. Johnston, Mingo, Rice
TE: Kincaid, Mayer, Gesicki
2024 Picks - (x3) 1sts
-
Dynasty Addiction - 12 Team PPR /SF (QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, TE, 2 Flex, SF)
QB: Lawrence, Fields
RB: Bijan, Dobbins, Etienne, Walker
WR: AJ Brown, Godwin, Bateman
TE: Kittle

Agreed and I'm surprised by this. Many rankings have him in the top 6 rookies. Have we not learned from OJ Howard, Eric Ebron, and David Njoku?

To me the question isn't whether he will translate or not. It's whether he is worth his rookie price for how long it will take to get the results.

That's the issue with drafting TEs high in rookie drafts. They're almost always available for cheaper before the breakout happens because dynasty owners have no patience.

I think this could be the rare exception. I cannot remember the last time I took a TE in the first in my dynasties. Never? I have picks at 1.07, 1.08, and 1.11 and am considering him with all of my picks depending on who falls to me.

It is Dynasty not redraft so no doubt anyone drafting him high needs to have an abundance of patience.

I would not be afraid to pull the trigger as I pretty much stated but situation matters. One reason is he possesses the hybrid characteristics that is critical to major fantasy success.

With this player the brave might just throw out the golden rule book given his rare skill set. He plays like a WR......a real good WR.

Speaking of playing like a WR, there's a non-zero chance his new team lists him as a WR, seriously hurting his fantasy football value.

They'd be dumb to though, Franchise tag implications would be terrible for the team (see Jimmy Graham vs the Saints).
