RB to get now for 2021

Postby Wizard » Fri Nov 06, 2020 7:14 pm

Your a top 4 team this season so you'll have a late 2021 first round pick, meaning you won't have a shot at any of the top RBs in the draft. Your current RBs are getting old, maybe have a year left, 2 tops if you get lucky. You need to get a RB this year for usage next year. Who do you want/think you can trade your 1.09-1.12 1st (and maybe a bit more) for that has a chance to be a decent RB next year and maybe for the next 3 years or so?
QB -Tom Brady, Nick Foles Deshaun Watson

RB - Kenyan Drake, Darrius Guise, Tevin Coleman, Leonard Fournett, Kareem Hunt, Justin Jackson, Jaylen Samuels, Carlos Hyde, Duke Johnson Jr., Jordan Wilkins, CJ Anderson, Chris Warren,

WR - Davante Adams , T.Y. Hilton, Courtland Sutton, Devin Funchess, Doug Baldwin, Michael Crabtree, Antonio Callaway, J’Mon Moore, Dylan Cantrell, Keith Kirkwood, James Richie

TE - Zach Ertz, Harris Demetrius, Hayden Hurst

I would throw a late first for Akers. I want someone who still has a chance to be special over some JAGs.

No shade on Carson I just don't know his value outside of Seattle.

Now is not the time to be trying to buy running backs for next year. They are so dependent on situation and competition I would not want to try to predict who is going to be a good running back for next year. Anyone that you would buy now will be the same price in the spring if not cheaper.

While you may mostly be right there are a few guys who are teetered on a razors edge and may never be cheaper.

I agree. I remember people spending 1sts on James White and Alex Collins.

Buying guys like JRob, Fournette and Carson for next year is risky at current prices.

I can get on board with taking flyers on Penny, Edmonds, J. Williams, and other backups for cheap

I also agree. Do not buy RBs now for full price unless you are competing. There is still 7 weeks for them to get injurred, free agency for them to be replaced, and the draft before the 2021 season begins. Buying now is how you end up paying max value for a guy who may never play a snap.

If you can buy at a big discount (guys that are injurred or underperforming already) or guys to help you make a push now, go for it. But buyer beware.

I like this take. I think it is foolish to give up on him personally, but somebody maybe be concerned and like the thought of getting back a first
I am just a guy sharing some thoughts

I think for every reason we like Dobbins we have to like Akers.

Akers is the only back anywhere near Dobbins athletically speaking from this class.
