Can we not turn every thread on here into a Fulgham thread.

This is AJB vs DJM.

I already voted for AJB, but I have no qualms with someone thinking DJM can be valued highly as well as a WR1, especially in PPR. He's 23 and his situation will evolve over the next few years. He has the talent to be a WR1 - he is electric with the ball in his hands.

Considering we all agree his situation isn't all that great and he's off to a terrible start to 2020, he's still likely to end this week as a top 15ish wideout in PPR leagues.
Pretty much. Situation is always likely to change. I see the 2 as very talented WR. AJB happens to have the much better QB and Teddy/Rhule have some crazy infatuation with passing to Robby whether it's deep into double coverage or well short on 3rd down. There's a lot of plays of DJM running wide open and Teddy never looks his way. Yet, he's still a top WR. Oh well, I already bought him low everywhere. Guess I will have to join more leagues to buy him up in lol

We often put players in the top X players in dynasty before they have had a top X season. Thats just a ridiculous requirement. AJB hasn't had a top 10 season either, and neither have Metcalf, Jefferson or Lamb but they could all reasonably be considered top 10 guys. And fulgham isn't even a little comparable to a player who was a 1st round draft pick, has elite measurables, almost 1000 scrimmage yards as a rookie, 1200 as a soph in essentially 14 games, and is still only 23.

Also I am saying in both cases that essentially talent > situation, so not really sure what's inconsistent about that.

Honestly im confused how this is even a question. Its AJB by light years. I think many today would have to think about taking Lamb or Jefferson over DJM, where as no one would have to think that about Taking AJB over those two. If you are DJMs age and people are going to be debating taking rookies over you then you arent as valuable. In no order Hopkins Mt Godwin DK AJB Adams Hill Ridley Allen Robinson are all guys id easily take over DJM then there are at least ten other WRs you can have a debate about over DJM, Golladay, Julio Still, Theilin Still Diggs for sure, among many others. I get people like DJM but honestly this is a ridiculous question and just sounds like take lock. I have no horse in this race so im as unbiased as they come.

I'm fairly confident there are people out there who would at least consider taking Jefferson or Lamb over AJB. Also bit ridiculous to knock someone because people might be taking two rookies who have had absolutely absurd starts to the season over him.

And ARob "easily" over DJM is kinda ridiculous at this point. As would considering 30+ year old Julio or Thielen. And Godwin should at least be up for debate at this point...his situation has changed for the worse and he's getting hurt a bunch.

I dont really think anyone should take AJB over DJM at this point, but thats more because I consider AJB a top 3 or 4 dynasty WR than a drop in my value of DJM.

I don't get how people can have these guys "light years apart". That's just absurd to me. If I had AJB and could get a 1st on top of DJM? I'd do that all day, and vice versa

Yeah, I roster both, and it's AJB, but "light years" is hyperbole at it's finest. DJM was a WR1 in PPG as a 22 year old, (AJB was a 22 year old last year, too) and he's still on pace for almost 70 catches and 1300 yards in a "down year", as the number 2 in that offense.

Its honestly crazy to me how much people dismiss and minimize what DJM has done so far in his career as a 23 year old in a not great situation. You'd also think he was having a JuJu '18 the way people talk about his current season to date but his numbers are solid.

He's the same age as AJB. DJM and AJB are both really talented young WR's. Glad I roster them in multiple leagues, some on the same team.

You got to love how aggressive some people are here. I mean, c'mon...they are not light years apart. There is quite a bit of recency bias occurring here too. What's ridiculous is many of you saying that this was even a ridiculous question to ask. Please refer to my previous General Discussion Post - "Domino Effect". This thread is falling hard into the domino effect category. In what world are people taking Jefferson and Lamb over Moore, Brown or Godwin? This is wild.

It's like you all switch up your perceived #1 dynasty WR...Two weeks ago it was DK Metcalf and now it is AJ Brown. Will it be Chris Godwin once he is healthy and strings together a few dominant games?

Yup, I get it though. People like AJB more and I'm fine with that. I would like to get a share of him but it sounds like I'd have to give DJM plus a 1st or so and there's no way I do that. Actually, tried to do a deal where I'd be sending Jacobs for AJB plus and they turned it down so people are very high on him right now.

The talents are very close though. DJM is still putting up numbers and the upside is there if he gets more/better targets. AJB should continue to excel in that offense but one has to wonder if the efficiency will come down or if they will start running more as the year goes on. Either way, I think these 2 players are a lot closer than people are leading on and I could see this conversation flipping in a year or 2

I love AJB, think his ceiling is massive. I think DJM has a low floor and a not large ceiling at all. There is no domino effect here this is just how i have always felt. Im sorry if the term ridiculous question came off bad, but i just dont think the two are even close. I do think they are light years apart. DJM has a steady High WR2 ceiling on average for his future. AJB has a very high WR1 ceiling for his future and to me thats light years apart. Id give AJB the edge over Dk and i have DK so im biased there. I get i sound Hot Takey right now, but its just what i think.

If people are saying DJM is bad or even having a bad year they’re wrong. He has played well.

This thread however is a debate between AJB and DJM and AJB has played better. That’s where the criticism is coming from, in comparison to a young WR who has been elite. There’s also probably a relative feeling of disappointment surrounding DJM based on his performance this year because many predicted a huge breakout campaign. But you are right that disappointment relevant to those expectations does not mean he has been bad.
